【摘要】 《牡丹亭》是明代戏剧家汤显祖的代表作,标志着明代传奇发展的最高峰,在古今中外的戏剧作品中占有重要地位,国内外学者均对其展开了不同程度的研究。英语世界对《牡丹亭》的研究虽然起步较晚,但仍然取得了较为丰富的研究成果。本文以《牡丹亭》在英语世界的传播与研究为研究对象,对英语世界的《牡丹亭》研究进行梳理与总结。论文除绪论和结语之外,主要由三章组成,分别从《牡丹亭》在英语世界的传播、英语世界的《牡丹亭》研究和英语世界《牡丹亭》研究的总体特征与价值三个方面论述英语世界对《牡丹亭》的研究情况。第一章探讨《牡丹亭》在英语世界的文本传播和舞台传播状况。《牡丹亭》在英语世界的传播始于各种选译本、编译本和全译本,其中西里尔·白之全译本产生了较大影响。随着译介活动的深入发展,相关的研究得以展开,这些研究成果也是《牡丹亭》文本传播的组成部分。除此之外,舞台传播亦是《牡丹亭》重要的传播方式。二十世纪末,彼得·塞勒斯执导的“后现代版”《牡丹亭》、陈士争执导的“民俗版”《牡丹亭》以及白先勇执导的“青春版”《牡丹亭》在英美舞台上留下了浓墨重彩的一笔。第二章以英语世界《牡丹亭》研究的具体成果为考察对象,对比较有代表性的研究成果进行分析。在主题研究方面,重点阐述夏志清和李惠仪对《牡丹亭》主题的解读。在评点研究方面,论述蔡九迪对《吴吴山三妇合评牡丹亭》的考证和华玮对《才子牡丹亭》的解读。在比较研究方面,考察伊维德对《牡丹亭》与格林兄弟的《儿童与家庭童话集·玫瑰公主》的对比研究,以及吕立亭对《牡丹亭》与《桃花扇》身份认同问题的讨论。在文本改编研究方面,主要以史恺悌的文本改编研究为中心,考察《牡丹亭》改编本的内容与意义。第三章对英语世界《牡丹亭》研究的总体特征与价值进行归纳。主要是总结英语世界的《牡丹亭》研究在研究内容、研究方法等方面的特征,并通过从总体上比较英语世界《牡丹亭》研究与国内《牡丹亭》研究的差异,探讨英语世界《牡丹亭》研究的独特意义与价值。总之,本选题通过上述研究,旨在明晰《牡丹亭》在英语世界流传的基本线索,了解英语世界《牡丹亭》研究的基本方法与模式,以期拓展《牡丹亭》的释义空间,为国内的《牡丹亭》研究提供借鉴与参照。更多还原

【Abstract】 The Peony Pavilion is the representative work of Tang Xianzu,a dramatist of the Ming Dynasty,which marks the development of the Ming dynasty legend.It occupies a significant position in the drama works of ancient and modern times,and has been studied in different degrees by scholars at home and abroad.Although the study of The Peony Pavilion in the English-speaking world started late,it has still achieved rich research achievements.This paper examines the dissemination and study of The Peony Pavilion in the English-speaking world,and sorts out and summarizes the study of The Peony Pavilion in the English-speaking world.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the thesis consists of three main chapters,which deal with the study of The Peony Pavilion in the English-speaking world from three aspects: the dissemination of The Peony Pavilion in the English-speaking world,the study of The Peony Pavilion in the English-speaking world,and the general characteristics and values of the study of The Peony Pavilion in the English-speaking world.The first chapter explores the state of textual and stage dissemination of The Peony Pavilion in the English-speaking world.The dissemination of The Peony Pavilion in the English-speaking world began with various selected versions,compiled versions and full versions,among which Cyril Birch’s full translation exerted great influence.With the further development of the translation activities,related researches have been conducted,and these researches are also an integral part of the text communication of The Peony Pavilion.In addition,the stage is another important way to disseminate The Peony Pavilion.At the end of the 20 th century,the post-modern version of The Peony Pavilion directed by Peter Sellers,the folk version of The Peony Pavilion directed by Chen Shizheng and the youth version of The Peony Pavilion directed by Bai Xianyong left a strong mark on the British and American stage.The second chapter examines the specific achievements of The Peony Pavilion research in the English-speaking world and analyzes the more representative research outcomes.In terms of thematic studies,it focuses on the interpretation of the theme of The Peony Pavilion by C.T.Hsia and Wai-yee Li.In the area of critical studies,this paper discusses Judith T Zeitlin’s research of The Three Wives of Wu Wushan Comment The Peony Pavilion and Hua Wei’s examination of Caizi Peony Pavilion.In the aspect of comparative studies,it examines Wilt L.Idema’s comparative study of The Peony Pavilion and Grimm’s Fairy Tales of Rose Princess,as well as Tina Lu’s discussion of the identity of The Peony Pavilion and The Peach Blossom Fan.In the study of textual adaptations,the main focus is on Catherine Swatek’s study of textual adaptations,examining the content and significance of the adaptations of The Peony Pavilion.The third chapter summarizes the general characteristics and values of the study of The Peony Pavilion in the English-speaking world.The main purpose is to summarize the characteristics of The Peony Pavilion research in the English-speaking world in terms of research content and research methods,and to explore the unique significance and value of The Peony Pavilion research in the English-speaking world by generally comparing the differences between the studies of The Peony Pavilion in the English-speaking world and the studies of The Peony Pavilion in China.In general,this paper aims to clarify the basic clues of the circulation of The Peony Pavilion in the English-speaking world,to understand the basic methods and modes of research on The Peony Pavilion in the English-speaking world,to expand the interpretation space of The Peony Pavilion,and to provide reference for domestic research on The Peony Pavilion.更多还原
