【摘要】 安东尼·特罗洛普的作品展现了他对道德以及社会价值最大程度的思索,许多学者研究了其作品中的主题。作为一个社会变化的阐述者,特罗洛普在其最长的作品《如今世道》中探寻了维多利亚时期指导人们的不同道德力量。通过运用聂珍钊教授的文学伦理学批评,本论文试图挖掘特罗洛普在作品中传达的道德教诲。本论文论述了《如今世道》中的两种冲突的道德观,通过解释在三个方面即自我发展,婚姻以及社会活动中的道德冲突,阐释了特罗洛普对功利道德观的否定以及以共契道德观为中心的道德取向。论文由引言、四章正文和结论组成。引言包括特罗洛普以及《如今世道》的基本信息、文献综述、所采用的理论,以及本文的中心论点、研究方法和意义。第一章分析了维多利亚时期的伦理环境,包括作为主流意识形态的功利主义以及多拿根的共契道德观。本章最后分析了作为社会阶级的意识形态的道德观。第二章分析了在自我发展中以实用为基础的功利主义道德观和以理智为基础共契道德观之间的道德冲突。第三章重点论述了以物质为基础的婚姻和以责任为基础的婚姻之间的冲突并且通过回归伦理环境揭示了特罗洛普道德批评中的局限性。第四章分析了社会活动中过度强调结果的功利主义道德观与强调真实性的共契道德观之间的冲突。结论部分总结全文并得出结论即《如今世道》反映了特罗洛普的观点即功利主义道德观对共契道德观的取代并不是一种进步性的发展。更多还原

【Abstract】 Anthony Trollope’s works embody fully his moral and social values,and have attracted scholars’ attention on various of themes of them.As an interpreter of social change,Trollope examines different moral strains which conduct people’s life during the Victorian Era in his longest volume,The Way We Live Now.By employing Professor Nie Zhenzhao’s theory of ethical literary criticism,this thesis argues that there are two conflicting moralities in Trollope’s The Way We Live Now,and by revealing them from the three aspects of selfdevelopment,marriage and social activities,it illustrates Trollope’s opposition to utilitarian morality and his moral orientation of the common morality.This thesis consists of introduction,four chapters and conclusion.The introduction contains some basic information of Anthony Trollope and The Way We Live Now,and also the literature review,theory adopted,the central argument,research methods and significance of the thesis.The first chapter analyzes the ethical environment of Victorian Age,especially the dominant ideology utilitarianism,and Alan Donagan’s common morality,and finally explores morality as an ideology of social classes.The second chapter analyzes the moral conflicts in self-development between utilitarian morality which is based on utility and the common morality which is grounded in reason.The third chapter focuses on the moral conflicts between materialized marriage and duty based marriage.And by returning to the ethical environment of The Way We Live Now,this chapter reveals Trollope’s limitations in his moral criticism.The fourth chapter analyzes the moral conflicts in social activities which is caused by the emphasis of result and the absence of veracity in the common morality.The conclusion summarizes the thesis and concludes that The Way We Live Now reflects Trollope’s view that the replacement of common morality by utilitarian morality is not a progressive development.更多还原
