【摘要】 本论文为《多中心城市的未来》(A Future of Polycentric Cities)第一至二章的翻译实践报告。该书探讨了如何通过揭示城市土地再开发的能力和价值,来更好地实现从汽车依赖型城市向公交导向型区域的转型。前两章主要论述了当前城市的空间规划、工程设计,以及智慧城市的定义、特征和建设方法。翻译此类文本有助于普及交通和城市发展相关知识,引发读者对以人为本的城市设计的思考。根据文本类型理论,源文本可以被归类为信息型文本。信息型文本的翻译应该以目标读者为核心,着重信息的可读性。因此在处理该文本时,译者以纽马克的交际翻译理论为指导,通过采用适当的翻译方法,从词汇、句式、篇章三方面来探讨翻译过程中产生的难点,并提出对应的解决办法。在词汇层面,译者分别采取了增译、概略化、词类转换等方法来保证词义的清晰准确;在句子层面,译者采取了合译、分译以及语序调整法等来处理长难句的翻译;在语篇层面,译者使用了重复法来保证目标文本的通顺和可读性。本报告期望能够为从事城市建设、交通设计的相关研究人员以及对此感兴趣的读者带来一些启示,并为翻译此类文本的人员提供一些有价值的参考,同时为国内城市建设如何实现创新发展提供一些借鉴思路。更多还原

【Abstract】 This is a report on the translation of the first two chapters in A Future of Polycentric Cities.This book describes how to better realize the transformation from an automobile-dependent city to a transit-oriented region by revealing the capacity and value of urban land redevelopment.The first two chapters discuss the current status of spatial planning and engineering design of cities,as well as the definition,characteristics,and construction methods of smart cities.The translation of the source text is of great significance for popularizing knowledge about transportation and urban development and provoking target readers to think about human-centered urban design.According to the text typology theory,the source text of this report belongs to the informative text.The translating of such text is centered on target readers,which requires higher readability of information.Therefore,taking Peter Newmark’s communicative translation theory as a guide,the report’s author,i.e.,the translator,employs some translation techniques to explore the translation difficulties of the source text from the lexical,syntactic,and textual levels.At the lexical level,translation techniques of addition,generalization,and conversion are adopted to ensure the clarity and accuracy of word meanings.At the sentence level,techniques like combination,division,and inversion are used to translate some complex sentences.At the textual level,the technique of repetition is employed to improve the smoothness and readability of the target text.This report aims to bring some insights to researchers engaged in urban construction and transportation design as well as to readers interested in this subject,and to provide valuable references for those who translate such texts as well as the innovative growth of urban planning in China.更多还原
