【摘要】 文学作品的简写本已成为近年研究的热点。除了对其本身重要性的研究以外,一些学者还关注了原著与简写本的比较研究,重点从系统功能语法的角度分析了两版本中的语言使用情况及其对文本易读性的影响。但是,有关两版本中语言使用情况的比较研究还十分有限,尤其对体现原著特色的语言特征的比较研究更是鲜有涉及。本研究致力于为这方面作出一定的努力,旨在比较原著和简写本中人物话语表达方式的使用情况,包括数量上的使用和语言特征并分析由于改写产生的潜在影响。鉴于《傲慢与偏见》中使用了大量的话语表达方式,本研究选取此小说及其简写本作为分析数据以期达到研究目的。我们首先考察了每个版本中话语表达方式的使用情况,以便更好地理解在改写过程中对它们所做的各种改变。两版本中话语表达方式的类型、数量和百分比为讨论提供了依据。此外,我们还从词汇和句法层面分析了两版本中话语表达方式的语言特征及改写过程中的变化,并详细讨论了改写产生的潜在效果。通过观察分析,我们发现基本上,原著中使用的一系列话语表达方式在简写本被保留。其中,大量的自由直接引语和直接引语在简写本被保留。然而,话语表达方式的使用在简写本中也发生了一些变化。首先,自由直接引语在原著中更突出,而在简写本中有所弱化。其次,自由间接引语在原著中的使用更突出,但在简写本中被转化成其他形式,这种转化削弱了原著中由自由间接引语表达的讽刺效果。对于两版本中话语表达方式的语言特征和改写中的变化,我们发现在简写本中发生了一些替换和删减的现象。在词汇层面,为了提高文本的易读性,原著中一些正式词、具体词被非正式词和笼统词替换,且一些复杂词被直接省略。此外,原著中的一些名词化形式被改写成品质(形容词)或过程(动词)。所有这些变化可能会削弱原著的文学性。在句法层面,一些复杂句被改写成复合句或简单句,并且一些长句被改写成短句以此提高文本的易读性,这些改变可能会丧失一定的文学效果。本研究可以为改编者提供一些建议,也可以提供一些教学启示。我们应该根据教学需求和目标读者的语言水平给学习者推荐简写本或者原著。对于那些低水平学习者,应该推荐简写本。因为,简写本中更易理解的语言形式,可以使学习者体验更加流利的阅读,这可为以后鉴赏真正的文学原著打下基础。而对于那些以培养文学鉴赏力为学习目标的高水平学习者,则应推荐原著。更多还原

【Abstract】 Simplified version of English novels has developed into an interest of recent research.Besides the studies about the importance of simplified version itself,the comparative studies between original and simplified version have been concerned by some scholars,with a focus on the analysis of language use and their effects on accessibility of two versions from the perspective of systemic functional grammar.However,the comparative studies on language use of two versions are limited in certain aspects,in particular the comparative studies on the linguistic properties reflecting the style of original version are rarely involved.The present study is an effort in this direction,aiming to compare the use of speech presentation including the quantitative use and linguistic properties in two versions and explore the possible effects resulted from rewriting.We chose the novel Pride and Prejudice and its simplified version as the data for the purpose of study considering the extensive use of speech presentation in this novel.We firstly examined the use of speech presentation in each version so as to better understand kinds of changes made about them in rewriting.The categories,instances and percentage of speech presentation were investigated to provide some evidences for discussion.In addition,we analyzed the linguistic properties for speech presentation at the lexical and syntactical levels and their changes in rewriting,together with a detailed discussion about the possible effects achieved as a result of them.Through observation and analysis,we found that a range of speech presentation used in the original version were basically reserved in the simplified version.Of which,Free Direct Speech and Direct Speech were largely retained in the simplified version.However,some changes in the use of speech presentation were also made in the simplified version.Firstly,Free Direct Speech was more prominent in the original version,but weaken in the simplified version.Secondly,Free Indirect Speech was more prominent in the original version,but transformed into other categories in the simplified version,this kind of transformation diluted the satirical effect created by Free Indirect Speech in the original version.With regard to the linguistic properties for speech presentation and their changes in rewriting,we found that some replacements and omissions were made in the simplified version.At the lexical level,for the sake of improving the accessibility,most of formal,specific words in the original version were replaced by informal,general words and some complex words in the original version were omitted directly.In addition,most of nominalized forms in the original version were reworded as quality(adjectives)or process(verbs).All these changes may weaken the literary values of original version.At the syntactical level,some complex sentences were rewritten into simple or compound sentences and some long sentences were rewritten into short sentences for the sake of promoting the accessibility of text,which may result in the lack of literary effects.The study may have suggestions for adapters as well as implications for teaching and learning.Either of two versions should be recommended for learners based on the teaching or learning needs and the language proficiency of target readers.As for those less proficient learners,the simplified version should be recommended because those more straightforward language forms resulted from replacement and omission in the simplified version may facilitate learners to read the text fluently,which could lay the foundation for future literary appreciation of original version later.As for those high-level learners whose learning goal is literary appreciation,the original version should be recommended.更多还原
