【摘要】 本文是一篇翻译实践报告。翻译项目原文是The Cambridge Companion to Modern British Culture一书中的第六章Contemporary British Cinema。该书对现代英国文化的方方面面进行了详细的介绍和深入的分析。本报告选取的第六章对当代英国电影的四个典型主题做了详尽的介绍和分析。该文本属于信息型文本,纽马克认为交际翻译适用于信息型文本的翻译,因此译者在翻译过程中以纽马克的交际翻译理论为指导。纽马克(2001)认为,“交际翻译的目的是尽可能地在目的语中产生原文读者感受到的同样效果”(p.39)。要求译者注重读者的理解和反应,确保译文的“内容和语言都能为译文读者所接受和理解”(Newmark,2001,p.47),因此译者需对原文做出调整,使译文准确、流畅。本报告分析了原文的类型和特点,阐明了翻译过程中的指导理论,并以Contemporary British Cinema的译例从词汇、句式、篇章方面分析翻译该文本所用到的翻译技巧。译者将翻译理论和实践相结合,以期提高翻译能力,为今后的翻译实践打下坚实的基础。更多还原

【Abstract】 This paper is a report on the translation of the sixth chapter(Contemporary British Cinema) of the book-The Cambridge Companion to Modern British Culture. This book introduces and analyzes various aspects of modern British culture and in Chapter Six, four themes characterizing British cinema have been analyzed. The source text can be recognized as an informative text. Newmark believes that communicative translation is suitable for a text of informative function; therefore, the translator chooses communicative translation theory as the guiding theory. According to Newmark(2001), “communicative translation attempts to produce on its readers an effect as close as possible to that obtained on the readers of the original”(p. 39). It requires the translator to focus on target text(TT) readers’ comprehension and reaction and ensure that “both content and language are readily acceptable and comprehensible to TT readers”(Newmark, 2001, p. 47). Therefore, the translator should make some adjustments to ensure the accuracy and fluency of the TT. This report explores the type and features of the source text, demonstrates the theory guiding the translation process and analyzes the translation techniques employed from the lexical, syntactic and textual level. The translator puts the translation theory into practice to improve translation competence, in the hope of laying a solid foundation for future translation practice.更多还原
