【摘要】 英语课堂的沉默现象既不利于提高学生英语水平也不利于英语教师的教学。而作为一个特殊的英语学习者群体,地处偏远的农村小学生的英语课堂沉默现象值得关注。因此,为了深入了解以农村小学生为研究对象的英语课堂沉默现象,笔者主要调查和分析了以下三个问题：1.农村小学英语课堂的学生沉默是否是一个常见的现象?2.什么是造成农村小学英语课堂的沉默现象的主要原因?3.针对这些原因,有怎样的对策可以减少农村小学英语课堂上的沉默现象?为了调查和研究这三个问题,笔者主要通过调查问卷,对教师和学生的访谈以及笔者在问卷调查和访谈的三个学校所做的课堂观察记录来完成本次调查分析。首先,笔者发现学生沉默现象在农村小学英语课堂中是一种普遍的现象,大部分学生认为上课积极发言对英语水平的提高能够有所帮助,却又习惯于在课堂沉默。而这种沉默现象跟学生的英语水平以及表达能力有很大的关系。其次,笔者从学生和教师两个方面大致总结了造成农村小学英语课堂沉默现象的五大原因。学生因素包括家庭环境,地域限制和传统观念的影响,缺乏英语基础知识以及从众心理和怕自尊受损。教师方面包括教师的专业性不够和教师缺乏提问技巧等。最后,笔者从农村小学英语课堂沉默现象的原因出发,分别就七个方面提出了应对策略。笔者认为教师应该在课堂中创设合理的小组合作活动以打破学生的从众心理,在评价的过程中多给学生以鼓励和表扬以帮助学生提高自我效能感,充分利用好每一节课并且教会学生合理地安排课余时间,使他们有更多的时间用于英语学习。同时笔者呼吁有关部门加强师资培训,提高教师的教学能力和课程资源的开发能力。更多还原

【Abstract】 Reticence in English class is not only adverse to students’learning, but also bad for teachers’teaching effect. And reticence of rural primary school students, the special group of English learners in remote areas, calls for attention. In exploring this phenomenon, the author of the thesis carried out careful investigation and studies, trying to answer the following three questions.1. Is the reticence a common phenomenon in rural primary schools?2. What are the causes of reticence in class?3. What can be done to improve the situation?In order to answer the three questions, the author handed out questionnaires to related teachers and students and interviewed them, as well as made records of classroom observation. The author has found, above all, reticence is a common phenomenon in rural primary school English class. Although the majority of students do agree that answering questions actively can do good to their English learning, they are still accustomed to keep silence in class. And their reticence has a lot to do with students’English level and presentation skills.The author then summarizes five causes of reticence in rural primary school English class. On the part of students, they are affected by family environment, geographical limitations and conventions, and their English level is generally poorer than that of the students in the city. Comparatively speaking, they are more likely to conform to the behavior of the majority, probably because they care more about their self-esteem. On the other hand, teachers may also be confronted with inadequate professional knowledge and the lack of questioning skills.Based on the above-mentioned five causes, the author put forward seven solutions, namely, giving students more encouragement and prize to boost their confidence about their English study; making the most of every class and teaching students how to make full use of their spare time so that they can spend more time on English; creating group work to break student’s conformity; giving rural teachers more opportunities to improve their teaching skills; knowing more about the students and building English learning atmosphere to improve students’pronunciation. What’s more, the government should improve the teaching environment of rural primary schools and the English teachers of rural primary schools should voluntarily explore school-based courses.更多还原
