【摘要】 《太阳照常升起》是海明威所写的最著名的作品之一。自出版以来，学者们对这部小说给予了极大的关注。他们的研究多集中于小说中的英雄形象、女性形象、荒诞意识等等。作品的新历史主义视角研究寥寥可数。本文将《太阳照常升起》作为研究对象，运用新历史主义文论的核心概念，即“历史的文本性”与“文本的历史性”以及“颠覆”与“抑制”，来分析这部小说，了解作家、作品与历史的关系。本文共分为五章。第一章是对本研究课题的整体介绍，简要介绍《太阳照常升起》、新历史主义和文献综述。第二章是《太阳照常升起》的历史性。前两节介绍美国一战后的社会状况和海明威的生活经历对其创作的影响；后两节分析酗酒主义和逃避主义在小说中的体现。第三章着眼于历史的文本性，介绍美国读者和中国读者在不同时期对《太阳照常升起》这部小说不同的历史构建。第四章研究小说中的颠覆和抑制，分析杰克和布莱特如何挑战主流道德意识但最终被抑制在传统价值观里。第五章是结论。分析发现：作者的个人经历及其所处的社会状况影响着作品的创作；同时，不同时期不同背景下读者对作品会有不同的评价。此外，每一部作品都是作者和其所处社会的意识形态之间妥协的结果。以新历史主义的视角研究海明威的小说《太阳照常升起》能够使读者了解第一次世界大战之后美国社会状况和海明威生平对作品创作的影响。另外，还能使读者更好地了解不同时期不同国家对小说的不同评价；了解小说中男女主人公所经历的颠覆与抑制。更多还原

【Abstract】 The Sun Also Rises is one of the most famous works written by Hemingway.Since its publication, many scholars have paid much attention to it. Their studiesmainly focus on the code hero, the female image, the absurdity and so on, however,there are few studies from the perspective of New Historicism.This paper takes The Sun Also Rises as the study object to analyze therelationship between the author and his literary works in the particular historysituation based on the main theories of New Historicism——“the historicity of textsand the textuality of history” and “subversion and containment”.This thesis is made up of five chapters. Chapter one presents an introduction,including the introduction to The Sun Also Rises, New Historicism, and a briefliterature review. Chapter two presents the historicity of The Sun Also Rises. The firsttwo sections introduce the postwar society in America and the influence ofHemingway’s experience on his creation; the last two sections analyze alcoholismand escapism reflected in the novel. Chapter three centers on the textuality of historyby introducing the distinctive histories which readers of different times and differentcountries construct respectively on The Sun Also Rises. Chapter four explores thesubversion and containment in the novel by analyzing how Jake Barnes and BrettAshley challenge the mainstream ideology and are eventually contained upon thetraditional values. Chapter five is the conclusion. The conclusion is that the authors’personal experience and the social situation can influence the creation of the works;meanwhile, different periods and different countries would have different opinions onthe same work. Besides, every work is the negotiation between the author and theideology the author belongs to.The analysis of Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises from the perspective of NewHistoricism can help readers know the influence of the postwar society in Americaand Hemingway’s experience on the creation of the work. What’s more, readers canacquire a better understanding of the different opinions that people have in differentperiods and countries. Besides, readers would understand the containment and thesubversion the hero and the heroin experience.更多还原
