基于网络处理器技术及其在无线网络控制器中的应用研究

【摘要】 由大唐电信集团代表中国提出的TD-SCDMA已作为第三代移动通信国际标准之一,随着各制造商和运营商的共同努力,目前该技术已成熟,具备了提供商业服务的能力。但前期大唐移动的RNC (无线网络控制器)产品基于ATM交换进行系统构建,系统容量受限,设备集成度低,需要进行平台级改进,且在网络协议需要上考虑R4、R5、R6的平滑演进,因此,公司考虑开发基于IP交换的硬件平台。本论文主要基于IP交换的硬件平台中的接口板的设计和实现。论文通过对网络处理器、ATM适配层5协议、ATM适配层2协议的研究,接口板以Intel公司的IXP2400网络处理器为核心实现,通过编写微码实现AAL2/AAL5与内部IP数据的转换。实际测试表明,该设计合理,所支持的ATM连接数量、接口处理能力等方面完全符合RNC系统容量大、集成度高的要求,目前已应用于第三代移动通信系统的RNC设备中。

【Abstract】 TD-SCDMA technology proposed by Datang Mobile has been accepted as one of the third international generation mobile telecommunication standers.Currently, with the efforts by equipment providers and service providers, such technology has already been driving to maturity,which could be programed in commercial application.The inchoate RNC(Radio NetWork Controller) R&D by Datang Mobile was developed based on ATM exchange Architecture.Compared with IP exchange Architecture-we programmed rencently,the ATM ones were limited by low-level system capacity and equipment integration, meanwhile, they were also need to be improved to support the R4,R5,R6 protocols.This paper mainly discusses the design and realization of the hardware board based on IP exchange. The paper also researches the Network Processor, ATM adapt layer 2,ATM adapt layer 5, interface board realized by IXP2400 and micro-code for data exchange between AAL2/AAL5 and IP.The test shows such design could satisfy the requirement in high-level RNC capacity performance, ATM access numbers and equipment integration performance. The design would be or to be mainflow desing in third mobile telecommunication RNCs.
