『舞姫』と『雁』から見られた森鴎外の自我意識の目覚め
On the Awakening of Mori Ougai’s Self-consciouness from His Works of Dancing Girl and Wild Goose

【摘要】 The scholar Mori Ougai has already made himself dabbles at eastern and western cultures even in times when the foreign students remain at the forefront of the society He is regarded as the father of conservatives studying abroad For all his life, he is not only a government officer but also a great litterateur Therefore, such dualistic contradictions between public and private, feudal and modern, Japan and western, conservative and open, state and individual persist throughout his whole life Personally, I think that in such a world being full of contradictions, the author led a very hard life because of the reality in Japan That fully embodies the contradictions in the modern times of Japan Under such kind of living conditions, Mori Qugai produced the great works of Dancing Girl and Wild Goose, which have been influenced by his attitude towards literature except for the different theme and methods The work of Dancing Girl is created from his rich life experience This work is used as an important memorial by the author for his emotions in life The hero Toyotarōwas aware his behaviors and greed so he hated himself Both of the heroes in his two works gave up love and chose their official career because of the deep influence of ethics and Meiji bureaucracy in warrior family on them This is related to the civilized conditions at that time During Meiji period, most of the people began to awaken, but that often conflict with the reality There exists the commonness and differences between the two novels Based on the contrastive and comparison of these two works, this thesis aims to analyze the similarities and differences, find the mutually influence relation between them, and expound the changes of Mori Ougai’s thoughts
