普林斯顿大学荣誉制度研究

【摘要】 当前,学术诚信缺失现象已经普遍出现在我国大学生的学习中,如何提高学生的道德诚信,营造健康纯洁的校园文化环境已成为我国学术界共同关注的问题。对大学生进行诚信教育,规范其学术行为,既有利于培养学生独立思考和敢于创新的精神,也能为他们将来的工作和研究打下良好的基础,使他们的人格和学识都能得到全面发展,成为一个独立而完整的个体,因此各高校必须重视学生学术诚信的教育工作。作为美国高校中追求学术诚信的典范,普林斯顿大学的荣誉制度在学生的管理和自治中发挥了关键的作用。该制度创建于19世纪末,自从建立以来一直都是普林斯顿大学最为珍贵的学术传统之一。普林斯顿大学荣誉制度从制度层面出发,循序渐次的渗透到学生学习和生活的方方面面,人性化的启迪并教育了学生。荣誉制度不仅培养了学生在生活和学习中树立起诚实守信的态度,而且融洽了师生间相互尊重和互为信任的关系,更重要的是,它为建立健康、和谐、诚信的校园环境和社会环境提供了有力的保障。普林斯顿大学荣誉制度的产生和发展、内容、组织机构、实施程序等方面的内容突出了该制度历史悠久、公正严明、内容规范、民主平等的特点。通过对普林斯顿大学荣誉制度的研究,结合我国高校学生诚信教育的现状和问题,得出了几点启示:第一,重视道德教化,完善学术诚信制度建设;第二,规范学术诚信制度的内容;第三,尊重学生主体地位,鼓励学生自治;第四,以学生为本处理学术违规行为;第五,运用各种方式开展诚信教育。普林斯顿大学的荣誉制度已经超越了一种制度的本身,它所展现的是普林斯顿大学的一种文化、价值观和精神。它不仅培养了普林斯顿大学学生的自治能力和道德责任感,更体现了学校全体对学术诚信和荣誉精神的坚守。结合当代大学生学术诚信危机的现状,普林斯顿大学的荣誉制度建设经验可为我国高校开展学术诚信教育提供借鉴,值得进一步研究和学习。

【Abstract】 Nowadays, There generally exists the academic dishonesty among the university students’activities, and how to solve the problem to construct the pure campus culture and promote the academic integrity education is arouse the universally concern of people. Academic integrity education to college students that cultivate every student into a healthy personality, profound knowledge independent individual is beneficial both to foster the students’ability to consider independently and to lay a good foundation for their future work and research. So universities should pay more attention to academic integrity education on students.Princeton University—the model of American academic integrity education, its honor system play a key role in the administration and autonomy of undergraduates. The honor system in the Princeton University which has always been a invaluable legacy of scholarship came into being in the late 19th century, it proceed from the system level,and gradually permeated in the square aspect of Students’ Learning and Life. It is so humanized and inspiring that is not just cultivates the student to have an honest attitude which brings mutual trusts and respects between the teachers and the students but also provides a strong support for constructing a healthy, harmonious and trustworthy environment on campus and the society in the whole. Through research on Princeton University students’ honor system, combined with the current situation of academic integrity education of our college students, some insights are gained:First, giving more attention to moral education, improving the academic integrity system; Second, standardizing the contents in the academic integrity of the system; Third, respecting students’subject status to encourage students self-discipline and autonomy; Fourth, on student-oriented in dealing with students’academic dishonesty behavior; Fifth, applying various forms to academic integrity education.The content highlighted the honor system of Princeton University has a long history, It has few significant characteristics:just and strict, rational and standard, democratic and fair. The honor system has exceed the system itself, it declares a culture, spirit and idea, it not only had trained students’ ability of autonomy and moral responsibility, but also embodied upholding honor from Princeton University.According to the present situation of undergraduate students’academic honesty crisis, the referential experiences from the honor system of Princeton University will help our universities to carry on academic integrity education, it worth further studying and learning.
