【摘要】 程及,著名当代华裔艺术家,以自成一家的水彩画享誉世界。他创造性地探索以毛笔和宣纸等中国传统材质进行西方的水彩画创作,将西洋画重写实的风格与东方绘画重意境的传统相结合,把中国画的笔墨技巧融入到水彩画中,建立起中西艺术融合的新颖风格。从少年时期到老年时期,沿着程及的艺术创作之路,我们发现:他的作品具有深刻的思想内涵,倾注着对自然、生命的热爱和对民生的关注,体现着淡泊明志、宁静致远的人格精神。他的艺术风格清新而豪迈,富有诗情哲意,充满着深厚的东方情结和民族风韵。他卓越的艺术成就赢得了中西观众的交口称赞。正如诺贝尔文学奖获得者、美国女作家赛珍珠所言:“水彩画家程及将是属于世界的。”本文从画家的生活经历着手,研究他各时期的作品特征及其形成的因素,并重点研究其最具特色的“中西融合、自成一家”的水彩画作品和具有现民族文化之魂的独特画风,同时分析其风格转变与艺术家的个人生存体验之间的联系。这对于研究中西方艺术的交流、融合以及当代艺术的创新具有一定的个案意义。本项研究是国内对程及艺术创作第一次的系统研究,笔者在程及身边工作学习八年,搜集和整理了大量的第一手文献图片资料,编写了详细的程及年表,具有一定的史料价值。更多还原

【Abstract】 Chen Chi, a well known contemporary Chinese artist, famous for his world recognized watercolor paintings. He has the rare quality of being abode to apply traditional Chinese materials, like writing brush and rice paper, etc into the creation of western water paintings. The Chinese manner he painted with a solid style of delicacy in the western painting mingle well in his master pieces, bringing his technique of Chinese drawing into color paintings whereas building up a new style of entirely modern, integrating oriental and accidental elements.From youth to elderly, tracing back into Chen Chi’s journey of creation, we found his works showed his thoughts in depth, endowing his attention on nature, the positive attitude to life and human beings, reflecting his rich spirit of still water running deep. His work is sophisticated yet fresh and original, in which the Asian culture influenced him at most. His extraordinary achievements in arts win the compliments from audience worldwide. Just like what Ms. Pearl S. Buck, a Nobel Laureate in Literature pointed out,“Chen Chi is not a local watercolor painting artist, he is worldwide”This paper starts from the life experiences of Chen Chi and shows a fruitful research on his works in different period and its key style elements. Meanwhile, this paper emphasizes research on his watercolor paintings, which is known as“the mingle of Chinese and Western culture, playing as a whole”and his unique expression and feelings on traditional Chinese culture. Meanwhile, it analyzes the essential relations between his changing styles and his life experiences, which is a meaningful example in research on the communication, integrating Chinese and Western culture as well as the trend of contemporary art.This research is the first one in China that delivers a thorough and systematic research on Chen Chi’s art works. The writer of this paper was living and studying together with Chen Chi for 8 years so that he collected a large number of first-hand achieves and photographs and arranged them in order.
