【摘要】 随着国际体育的大众化及2008年北京奥运会的召开,体育新闻在国内外引起了更广泛的关注,体育新闻的数量也与日俱增。体育新闻报道以其独特的话语范围、话语方式和话语意旨成为一种独立的语体,然而语言学界却对体育新闻报道的文体特征缺少全面的研究。同时,其独特的语言特色及其功能值得进一步探讨。由此,本文取材于2008年北京奥运会的部分英语体育新闻报道,在语域理论框架下,分别从语域三层面对英语体育新闻报道的文体特点进行深入研究。研究发现,英语体育新闻的语场特点是:大量使用短词、绰号、数词;及物系统主要由物质过程体现,关系过程和言语过程有一定量的使用,其它过程偶有出现。这说明英语体育新闻主要用来描述体育事件,提供相关信息和背景主体。语旨方面,称呼语的昵称化、随意化和句段长度短等特点,使英语体育新闻的风格倾向于非正式,从而拉近与读者间的关系;语气上以直陈为主,目的在于提供体育事件的相关信息,帮助读者了解体育事件的细节;情态动词、情态附加语和褒贬词语的使用不是很多,主要用来表现体育活动的竞争性和振奋性。在语式方面,英语体育新闻集书面语和口语特点于一体。书面语特点主要体现在专业术语的频繁使用,词汇密度大及句子复杂度高。口语化特点体现在俗语词、俚语、简单连接词和日常词汇的多用上。因此,英语体育新闻是具有口语体特点的书面语。同时,在英语体育新闻文体中,语域变异是新闻作者经常使用的偏离常规的一种语言形式,其目的在于突出自身、吸引更多读者。这种以实现“前景化”为目的的语域变异,本文称其为语域前景化。文中对其现象及功能也从语域三要素方面进行了探讨。语场方面的前景化体现在创新词、旧词新义、模糊词语及修辞手法的使用上;语旨方面,称呼语的多样化使用拉近了新闻作者、运动员与读者的关系;而口语化程度加深,新信息前置体现出体育新闻语式的前景化的特点。前景化的功能在于吸引读者以及产生幽默效果。作者希望通过对英语体育新闻文体特征的分析,使广大读者,尤其是语言学习者对英语新闻报道进行有效的理解,进而对体育新闻阅读及写作有所裨益。更多还原

【Abstract】 With the popularization of international sports and the convening of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, sports news attracts more attention. Released in great amount, sports news has formed an independent register. However, compared with other registers, sports news reporting has not enjoyed its due attention. Therefore, the thesis collects data from English sports news during Beijing Olympic 2008 to study the stylistic features of English sports news in the framework of register theory. From the discussion and analysis in this thesis, it is found that, in the field of English sports news, heavy use of sports terms, nicknames and numbers appear; material process is the most frequently used process in sports news; relational process and verbal process also take a relatively important place, while other processes are seldom used. This specifies that the newspaper sports news is a combination of descriptive and narrative text. Concerning the tenor of English sports news, the use of nicknames, short sentences and short paragraphs make the style of sports news informal, which helps to improve the relationship with the reader; the dominant mood type in the sports news is fully indicative, giving information about the sports events and helping the reader understand the events in detail; modal operators, modal adjuncts and appraisable words are sometimes used to show the competitiveness and excitement of sports events. As for the mode, English sports news combines features of speech and writing in one text. On one hand, features of writing style are obvious, including technical terms, dense words, and complex sentences; on the other, colloquialism, slangs, simple conjunctions and common words are frequently used to make the news colloquial. Hence sports news belongs to written language with colloquial features. Besides, in the thesis, sports news’ register foregrounding, which refers to register deviation for realizing foregrounding, is also discussed from the aspects of register variables. In the field, coinage, neologism and fuzzy words are adopted; in the tenor, the diversification of address forms is used to make the relationships close among the sportsman, the reporter and the reader; the tendency of colloquialism, and the frontalization of the new information achieve the foregrounding of mode. The functions are attracting and entertaining the reader. As a whole, the thesis hopes to help readers, especially language learners, understand English sports news effectively, and to be beneficial to English sports news reading and writing.更多还原
