【副题名】以《香水》为名的电影常规叙事与奇观影像研究

【摘要】 1985年,德国作家帕特里克·聚斯金德的长篇小说《香水——一个谋杀犯的故事》(Perfume:The Story of a Murderer)结集出版,在德国社会引发了巨大的轰动。该篇小说描写了一位没有气味的天才让·巴蒂斯特·格雷诺耶一生为追寻“如海风般清新,如坚果般甜美,如杏花般柔嫩”的香味,残杀了巴黎二十六名最美丽的少女,利用她们的味道调制出了一瓶能倾国倾城的香水,每个人都为这种香水感动、臣服,而他也在这种迷人的香味中死去。作者凭借小说出色的情节架构和语言描述获得了1987年在巴黎书籍博览会上颁出的十五份“古滕贝格奖”中唯一的一份优秀外国小说奖。2006年,在德国新锐导演汤姆·蒂克威(Tom Tykwer)的勤勉工作下,这部优秀小说被成功地搬上银幕,在获得1亿欧元票房佳绩的同时,也摘得了第57届德国电影银奖。这样的一部电影作品,它获得成功的原因必然是多方面的,原著的巨大社会影响力自不必说,单从它自身的创作来看,就有许多值得未来电影思考和借鉴的地方。首先,在影片的叙事策略上,故事的主线虽然仍是围绕着冷峻的主人公格雷诺耶和他的香水展开,但相对于聚斯金德在小说中所坚持的用主人公的孤独、坚持、欲望和罪恶来窥探整个社会的畸形以及在这种畸形社会孵化下人性的罪恶的作法,电影版的《香水》显然不具备这样的叙事深度。为了达到和叙事客体的沟通,导演抓住了格雷诺耶人性中不善沟通的一面,通过强化他苦难的人生经历和孤独的人生品格,来竭力展现他在那份苦难与孤独中执著于寻求爱与被爱、为了追逐梦想而最终走向极端与毁灭的历程。其次,在影片的影像叙事层面上,针对原著中描写最出色的“香味”和“嗅觉”,导演借助了画面、音乐和声响、画外音以及人物的表演来达成,用丰富而震撼的视听语言构筑起了一个个视听场景的奇观,从影像的另一个层面推进了故事情节的发展。最后,作为一种较少运用的电影手段,影片在常规叙事层面上建立起来的奇观影像叙事值得我们探讨。因为在影片的影像叙事过程中架构起来的奇观式的场景呈现,在过去常常被定义为科幻电影类型的惯常展示套路,而如今,它已深入到了常态的剧情片的叙事范畴中,并且起到了非常独特的表达效果。这是否可以理解为这样的展示“从局部的角度补充和扩散着电影奇观的巨大效力”,显示了未来电影创作的一个重大的发展方向,和电影学科中的一个有价值的研究命题,这一切都还有待时间的印证。更多还原

【Abstract】 ◆In 1985,the full-length novel“Perfume:The Story of a Murderer”written by the German writer Patrick S(u|¨)skind was compiled and published.It triggered a huge stir in the German society at that time.The novel depicts the lifelong pursuit of a genius named Jean-Baptiste Grenouille without any smell on his body to the finding of a kind of fragrance that smells as fresh as sea breeze,as sweet as nut and as soft as apricot flower.He was so indulged in his goal that he brutally killed twenty-six young girls with the most beautiful appearrance in Paris.With their body fragrance,Jean-Baptiste Grenouille made out a bottle of exceedingly aromatic perfume that touched and tamed all the people.And he also died in this charming smell.In 1987,the author gained the exclusive prize of the outstanding foreign novel in the Paris Book Fair for the novel’s excellent plot design and wonderful diction among the fifteen novels which were all awarded Gutenberg Award. In 2006,the amazing novel was successfully shooted into a film through the hard work of a new film director Tom Tykwer from Germany.The film not only scored an achievement of 100 million euro in its book-office returns, but also received the 57th German Film Silver Prize.There must be many factors that makes this film a success.Only in terms of the creation of the work itself,there are many places worthy of our thinking and learning for the producion of the future films,let alone the huge social impact of the original vesion of the book.Firstly,in terms of the film’s narrative strategy,the whole story was developed in the centre of the seclusive hero and his perfume.However,the movie version of“Perfume”is not so profound compared with author’s espial of the socity deformity and the wicked aspects of human beings caused by the society through Patrick S(U|¨)skind’s constant narration of the hero’s loneliness,persistence,desire and evil in his novel.In order to get a communicatin with the narration object,the director seized Jean-Baptiste Grenouille’s incapacity in communication and strengthened the depiction of his sufferings in life and seclusive character to reveal his perseverant pursuit of the feeling of love and being-loved and his experience in chasing the dream which led to his extreme and doom. Secondly,in terms of movie’s image narration,the director combined the comprehensive effect of the picture,music,sound,vedio-over and performance of the figures to desbribe the amazing“fragrance”and sense of smell.With the use of the rich and shocking Audio-visual language,the wonders of audio-visual scenes were made.And in this way,it promoted the story development from another visual angle. At last,as a seldomly used method in film shooting,the wonders of video narrative built in the regular narrative is worth of our discussion.The presence of the wonderful scene constructed in the process of the movie narration was usually regarded a usual routine of display in Science fiction movies.But nowadays,it has deeply integrated into the narration domain of normal dramas and can achieve a unique effect in expression.So it can be comprehended that this kind of display could be the“supplement and spread the film’s amazing power from the partial angle”and reveals an important development direction of the future film-making and a valuable subject in the film science.All these are yet to be confirmed by the time.更多还原
