一种基于跨层设计的无线Mesh网络路由协议的研究

【摘要】 如今,因特网已经深深融入了人们的工作、学习、生活等各个方面,人们对因特网的无线宽带接入的需求与日俱增,而无线局域网(WLAN)越来越不能满足这种需求。在此背景下,无线Mesh网络(WMN,Wireless Mesh Network)应运而生。无线Mesh网络以众多无可比拟的优势在全世界引起了广泛的关注,成为无线通信领域的热点,被认为是下一代因特网技术的重要组成部分。近几年来,无线Mesh网络技术在取得飞速发展,获得众多成功商业应用的同时,也遇到许多技术瓶颈的制约,其中最主要的一项就是路由技术。无线Mesh网络的很多技术特点和优势来自于Mesh多跳路由。因此,路由协议的研究与设计是无线Mesh网络技术的一个重要课题。目前,无线Mesh网络路由协议的标准尚未确立,传统的有线因特网路由协议不能适用于无线Mesh网络这样的无线多跳网络,而无线Mesh网络自身的特点也决定了与之相似的移动自组网(MANET,Mobile Ad hoc Network)的路由协议也不能完全适用于无线Mesh网络。同时,为满足无线Mesh网络的负载均衡、路由容错与网络容量等要求,运用跨层设计、采用更好的路由参数、使用多径路由等方法已经成为无线Mesh网络路由协议设计的重要思路。因此,本论文按照无线Mesh网络路由协议的设计要求,分析了路由协议DSR应用在无线Mesh网络中的不足,运用跨层设计等方法加以改进,设计出了采用路由质量PFDR为选路准则,并具有负载平衡、拥塞避免的多径路由协议CMRP(Cross-layer Multi-path Routing Protocol)。分析和仿真结果表明,设计出的CMRP比起原先DSR在网络吞吐率方面有了成倍的提高,而相应的时延、抖动等参数下降了一半以上,网络性能有了极大的提升,适用于无线Mesh网络。
【Abstract】 Nowadays,Internet has deeply immerged into People’s work,study,daily life and other aspect.Wireless Lan(WLAN) has become incapable of meeting People’s grwoing demand on wireless broadband Internet access.In such situation,Wireless Mesh Network(WMN) comes out. With lots of incomparable advantages,WMN has aroused widespread concern and is considered as an important part of the next generation of Internet technology.In recent years, WMN has achieved rapid development and many successful business applications.However,it is also constrained by many technical bottlenecks,in which routing technology is the most important one. Many technical characteristics and advantages of WMN originate from Mesh muti-hop routing.Therefore, the study and design of routing protocol is an important subject in WMN technology.Currently, the standards of routing protocol for WMN has not yet been established. The traditional routing protocol for wired Internet can not be applied to multi-hop wireless networks such as WMN. Although Mobile Ad hoc Network(MANET) is similar to WMN, routing protocol for MANET could not fully apply in WMN because of its own characteristics. Besides, in order to satisfy the requirements of WMN such as load balancing,fault-tolerant,network capacity and so on, applications such as using cross-layer design,multi-path routing become important subjects in routing protocol design for WMN.In accordance with the requirements of routing protocol design for WMN,we analyse the deficiencies of DSR when apply in WMN,adopt cross-layer design to improve DSR. Finally,we design a routing protocol CMRP(Cross-layer Multi-path Routing Protocol),which has load balancing,congestion avoidance mechanism and could afford multi-path routing. And the routing rule is measured by PFDR.Analysis and simulation results show that when using CMRP, comparing with using original DSR, the network throughput double while the corresponding delay,jitter reduce to merely one-third. CMRP has greatly upgraded the network performance, fits for WMN.
