低压启动PWM DC/DC转换器的设计

【摘要】 随着电子技术的发展,电子设备与人们工作生活的关系日益密切,而任何电子设备的工作都离不开可靠的电源。开关电源因为其具有高集成度,高性价比,简单外围电路,高效率等优点,得到了广泛的运用。本文基于CMOS工艺,设计了一块升压型PWM模式DC/DC转换器。带隙基准源具有5 ppm/℃的温度特性和低频下高电源抑制比,为电路提供一个稳定的,精确的参考电压。低压启动模式使得电路能够以低至0.85 V的输入电压启动,提高了电池的工作时间。在最大峰值电感电流下,低压启动模块能够对内部NMOS开关进行控制,并在启动过程中产生一个1.5μS的关断时间,使得电路能够启动一个负载。该电路还具有过温保护和过流保护功能。本文首先介绍了开关电源的工作原理,接着根据需要进行了整体结构设计。再对电路的子模块进行分析,并运用Hspice软件进行模拟仿真,然后对电路进行了整体仿真。模拟结果表明,该电路性能良好,达到了设计指标。最后运用Cadence virtuoso工具进行了版图设计,进行了DRC和LVS验证,并进行了后仿真。
【Abstract】 With the development of electronic technology, the electronic equipment has been used widely in our work and life. Every electronic equipment can not be operated without a reliable power supply because the switch mode power supply (SMPS) has the characteristics of high integration, most cost effective, simple periphery circuit and high efficiency so it has been used broadly.A boost PWM DC/DC converter is designed based on CMOS technology in this thesis. The bandgap-reference. with a low temperature coefficient (TC) of 5 ppm/℃and a high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) at low frequency provides a stable and precision voltage reference for the whole circuit. The low voltage start-up mode makes the whole circuit start up at a lower input voltage of 0.85V, extending the operation time of the battery. The low voltage start-up module controls the internal NMOS switch under the maximum peak inductor current, with an approximate 1.5μS off-time during start-up, allowing the circuit to start up an output load. The whole circuit also includes the over-temperature protection circuit and the over-current protection circuit.In this thesis, the basic principle of the SMPS is proposed at first. Then the circuit architecture is designed according to the customer’s requirement. The sub-block circuits, addition to the whole circuit, are also designed and simulated with Hspice. The result shows that the desired functions and performance are achieved. Finally, the layout is designed with Cadence virtuoso, which is verified by DRC and LVS, with post-layout simulation performed simultaneously.
