【摘要】 提高学生的阅读水平一直是英语教学的重要任务之一。所以一直以来广大的学者专家们对此开展了大量的研究工作以探讨阅读能力的本质和特点。而图式理论则是当前传播较为广泛且影响较为深远的一种观点。作为相互式阅读模式的完善阶段及主要代表,图式理论在外语阅读中起着重要的作用。中外众多对阅读的相关研究表明,在进行阅读文章时,只有“自上而下”阅读模式和“自下而上”阅读模式共同启动才能实现对文章的有效理解。只有当二者有机结合,不断激活大脑中的现有图式,将阅读材料中的信息与读者大脑中的图式知识结合起来,才能成功地完成对阅读材料的理解。因此,本文主要围绕这两个关键展开:1)图式是如何被激活的?2)又如何才能帮助学生建立自己的图式从而提高自己的阅读能力?本文主要研究图式理论的具体化在大学英语阅读教学中的可行性和可操作性。对图式的具体化分析可为此提供一些指导性的教学原则。本文尝试的教学过程分为三步:1)启动图式:激活图式,学会利用已有的知识去获取信息。2)学习图式:提高学生的阅读技能以促进理解。3)巩固图式:帮助学生巩固和积累所学知识。本文试图通过建立和激活学生图式的教学模式培养学生良好的阅读习惯,提高他们的英语阅读能力。所以帮助学生建立、激活及应用图式以利阅读才是研究者的终极目标。更多还原

【Abstract】 Teaching English reading has always been an important objective in collegesand also a hard-nut to crack. Thus numerous researches have been probed into itsnature and characteristics. Schema theory is one of the prevailing perspectivestoward the analysis of reading process. As a main and perfect representative ofinteractive reading model, schema-theoretic reading approach plays a critical role inforeign language reading. Plenty of relevant researches on reading have illuminatedthat the successful understanding of an article is accomplished only through theeffective interaction of“bottom-up”and“top-down”reading models. Only if theschema knowledge in one’s mind is activated, constructed, and then connected withthe novel information in the reading materials can he be able to succeed in gettingthe comprehension of the articleHence, this paper centers on the two key questions: 1) How are the schemataactivated? 2) And how to help the students to construct and instantiate schemata tofacilitate reading comprehension? This paper is primarily on the feasibility of the schema instantiation inReading. The analysis of schema instantiation implies some teaching principles forteachers to follow. The teaching process goes as follows: 1) Activate the schemata:Activate the relevant schemata in readers’mind to gain new information. 2) Learnthe schemata: To develop the students’reading skills to promote understanding. 3)Strengthen the schemata: Assist the students to enhance their study.This paper aims to assist students to form good reading habits and improvetheir reading ability with the help of schema-oriented instruction model.
