【摘要】 所谓“小报大办”,就是《泰晤士报》主编罗伯特·汤姆森所说的:“你会注意到它与普通小报绝不一样,它是以小报的形状来包装大报的价值和内容”,即用小型张的报纸承载大报的内容,用办大报的理念来经营“小报”。在中国新闻史上,最早运用“小报大办”理念来经营报业并取得成功的是成舍我。成舍我(1898—1991),湖南湘乡人,原名成勋,又名成平,笔名舍我、百忧、大哀等,我国现代著名爱国报人、新闻教育家和社会活动家。他一生致力于报业,建立了中国历史上最早和最具规模的民营报业集团,该报团包括北平的《世界日报》、《世界晚报》、《世界画报》,形成著名的“世界”报系。后又创办《民生报》、《立报》,最终形成了资产达数亿美元的成氏“新闻帝国”。中国新闻史上以个人力量办多家报纸成舍我是第一人,因此,他被誉为民国时期“四大报人”之一。由于时代动荡,成舍我的办报事业屡遭挫折,但他锲而不舍地战斗在新闻王国,而且遍游欧洲学习国外先进办报经验,积极探索新颖的办报形式,给后世留下许多办报经验,尤其是他的“小”报——《民生报》和《立报》的成功,更是一笔珍贵的历史财富。在创办小型报的过程中,成舍我心中始终激荡着一个新闻大世界。他一直坚持“小报大办”、“报纸大众化”等经营理念,运用西方现代化的管理方式进行报业运作,尤其在评论、编辑、广告以及在维护新闻自由等方面上频出绝招,使得他的“小”报得以大发展,深受读者欢迎,发行量一度成为上海报业之冠。小型报成为争取大众读者的有力武器,已经取得业界的共识。目前,小型报的狂潮席卷全球。2003年9月,著名的英国大报《独立报》大开张和小开张同时发行。2004年11月1日开始,英国《泰晤士报》全部改成“小报”的形式出版。一种新报纸broadloid(小开张大报)作为新势力加入报业角逐,已成为不争的事实。面对竞争激烈的国内外媒体,面对小型报的流变趋势,我们本土报业只有未雨绸缪,及时调整战略才能守住自己的一方天地。更多还原

【Abstract】 “Broadloid”As Thomas, the chief editor of Times, said,“It is different from the common tablet because it bears the weight of so many valuable contents that only belong to broadsheet.”Its contents and running style is the big scale but its size is small. In china, the first people used it to manage newspaper is Cheng Shewo.Cheng Shewo (1898-1991),born in Xingjian Hunan province, used to be called Cheng Sun , Cheng Ping , the pen name She Wo ,Bai You and Da Ai etc, was a famous patriotic journalist , journalism educationalist and sociologist. He spent his life-time on newspapering, built the earliest and biggest newspapering group which contained World Daily, World Evengingpaper, World Picturepaper .And he found Min Sheng Bao and Li Bao, later. Ultimately, he built Cheng’s news empire which reached several hundreds of million U.S dollar. He was the first man who purchased so many newpaper by individual strength in Chinese news history, was praised as one of "4-big journalists " in the Republican period.Because of the turbulent times, Cheng Shewo’s journal career had many setbacks. However, he continued to fight in the journal kingdom. He visited Europe to learn advanced experience of managing newspapers. He also discussed new forms of managing newspapers, and left it for the next generation. Specially his success on Ming Sheng Bao and Li Bao, is a valuable historical wealth.“broadloid”and“made newspaper popular”was used in the process of running Tablet, in his large journal world. He had achieved great success in review, edition, advertisements and struggling for the freedom of newspaper. His newspaper very successful.It already getting common that Tablet becoming the forceful weapon on striving for masses .At present, The violent surge of Tablet has swept the globe. In September, 2003, famous Independent newspaper from United Kingdom issued big and small size newspaper at the same day. United Kingdom Times has published Tabloid on 1,Dec,2004. It’s no wonder than broadloid become a news press in newspaper’s market .
