双芯光纤传感器研究

【摘要】 双芯光纤是一种新型的包含一对平行纤芯的特种光纤,其包层直径为125μm。本文对基于双芯光纤的一系列传感特性进行了开发和研究。提出了一种新颖的基于双芯光纤的弯曲传感器,可用于弯曲测量。该传感器采用一段双芯光纤作为敏感单元,双芯光纤的两个纤芯作为一个双光束干涉仪,在光纤出射端远场形成周期分布的干涉图样。该双光束干涉仪的干涉相位差是光纤弯曲曲率半径的函数,因而,弯曲曲率半径的变化可导致格子光场的移动。我们还对扭转传感器进行了研究和实验验证。波长为650nm的低相干半导体激光二极管被用来做为光源,所形成的干涉条纹光场由CCD探测器记录。理论上,建立了远场图案强度分布函数与弯曲和扭转变化的关系,并得到了实验的验证。

【Abstract】 Two-core fiber is special designed fiber, in which contains a pair of parallel fiber core surrounding a cladding with diameter 125μm. Based on the two-core fiber, a series sensing characteristics have been developed and investigated in this paper.One of interesting sensor is fiber curvature sensor that uses two-core fiber as the sensing element has been proposed and demonstrated. The two-core fiber act as a two-beam in-fiber integrated interferometer in which phase differences is a function of curvature in the plane containing the cores results in the shift of the far-field interferometric fringe pattern. The other one, for instance, a twisting angle sensor is also investigated and discussed.A low-coherence laser diode at wavelength 650nm illuminates the two-cores and the interferogram pattern in the far-field is recorded by a CCD camera. The relationship between the far-field fringe pattern intensity distribution and the changes due to disturbing in the case of bending or twisting angle measurement have been established and experimental results were also confirmed this.
