小卫星用锂离子电池结构设计及性能研究

【摘要】 锂离子电池除工作电压高、循环寿命长、比能量高及使用温度范围宽外,还具有体积小、质量轻、可快速充放电、无记忆效应和环境友好等优点,不但满足了小卫星对电源系统越来越高的要求,同时也达到了提高有效载荷、减轻卫星发射质量的目的,从而可以产生明显的技术经济效益,是21世纪发展的理想能源。本文对航天用锂离子电池及性能进行了研究,主要包括电池的结构设计、充放电性能、安全性能、一致性及循环性能的研究,此外还模拟低轨道地球卫星进行了循环寿命实验及环境模拟实验。通过对电池充放电性能及倍率性能的评估,最终选择A厂家提供的正极材料LiCoO2,并根据该材料的特性和电池参数设计出电池结构、外壳及密封件,最终完成电池的制备。设计出的电池2C倍率放电的容量保持率为98%;在-10℃、-20℃及-30℃下的放电容量分别为初始容量的97.1%、91.7%及83.3%;在100%放电深度时比能量达到150Wh/kg;电池以0.5C倍率做循环寿命实验,940次循环后电池容量仍为初始容量的86.6%,电池表现出良好的充放电性能。电池的过充电压只能达到5.6V,其过充电性能需进一步改进,而电池顺利通过热冲击测试、重物冲击测试及过放电测试,均没有起火或爆炸。电池一致性评估结果表明:在整个充放电过程中,电池电压变化幅度均很小,误差在±0.018V之间,表现出良好的一致性;电池内阻较小,但其一致性有待进一步提高。用于低轨道地球卫星的单体电池地面模拟实验结果表明:25%DOD时循环次数超过22080周,30%DOD时循环次数超过19480周,40%DOD时循环次数超过11950周,电池放电终止电压不低于3.6V。在整个环境模拟实验过程中,电池没有出现鼓气或漏液现象。120次循环以后电池组电压在25.5V附近并趋于平稳。电池表现出良好的充放电性能和循环性能。

【Abstract】 Lithium ion battery has its outstanding characteristics such as high voltage, long life, high specific energy, wide range of using temperature, small volume, light quality, charging fast, no memory effect and so on, which satisfy satellite’s higher demand for power supply system, at the same time, increase efficiency load and decrease the quality of satellite. Lithium ion battery as ideal energy source can produce much more economic benefit in 21 century.The design and performance of lithium ion battery were studied. The battery structure and the performance of charge and discharge, safety, consistent and cycle were mainly studied. The experiments of cycle and environment simulation simulating Low Earth Orbit Satellite were also carried.The positive material of A company was choose after its charge and discharge and rate performance were evaluated. The battery structure, shell and hermetic parts were designed according to material characteristic and battery parameters, and the battery was prepared at last.The capacity retention was 98% at 2C.When discharging at -10℃, -20℃, and 30℃, the capacity retention was 97.1%, 91.7% and 83.3% respectively. When discharging with 100% depth of discharge (DOD) at 0.5C, the power density was over 150Wh/kg, and the capacity retention was 86.6% after 940 cycles. The battery exhibited good charge and discharge performance.The over charging voltage of 10Ah battery only reached 5.6V, thus its performance needs to be further improved. The battery passed a number of safety tests such as heating in oven, crushing, over-discharging. From the consistent experiment it was shown that the battery exhibited good performance, and the voltage difference ranged between -0.018V and 0.018V in the whole process. The battery resistance was low, but its consistency needed to be improved.The experiment simulating Low Earth Orbit Satellite on earth was done. It was shown that cycle number was over 22080, 19480 and 11950 respectively at 25%DOD, 30%DOD and 40%DOD, and the battery voltage was no less than 3.6V. There was no gas produced and no liquid leaked in the whole experiment. The pile voltage was about 25.5V after 120 cycles and became steady gradually. The battery exhibited good charge and discharge and cycle performance.
