【摘要】 本研究课题旨以20世纪60年代末美国社会学家Harvey Sacks, Emanuel Schegloff和Gail Jefferson提出的会话分析理论(话轮替换,相临对,修正机制和反馈项目)为基础,以中美两国各具代表性的电视谈话节目面对面和Larry King Live各十期节目的录像及转写资料为语料,从打断、问答序列、修正机制以及反馈项目四个方面探讨中美电视谈话节目在会话结构上的异同点。进而,笔者将对差异进行归类和整理,并从集体主义与个人主义、人际和谐与果断自信以及等级差距与地位平等三方面分析会话结构之所以存在差异的文化原因。本文试图从一个全新的视角—会话分析对电视谈话节目这一特殊的会话类型进行中美两种背景下的比较研究。这种尝试性的探索将有助于丰富和发展会话分析的理论,扩展其应用范围,并吸引有造诣的学者继续关注相关课题的研究;同时,对中美两种文化背景下谈话节目参与者会话结构不同组织形式和规律的领会将有助于培养我国英语学习者的跨文化交际能力。此外,本课题的研究将提高我国电视观众对这一较新型节目形式的鉴赏水平,并对启发电视工作者进一步完善有中国本土特色的谈话节目形式提供借鉴。更多还原

【Abstract】 The researcher aims to make a comparative study of conversation features and regularities in sequential organization in Chinese and American TV talk shows from the perspective of CA. By focusing on two selected Chinese and American TV talk shows: Face to Face and Larry King Live, the comparative analysis is conducted in terms of the four conversationally structuring aspects—interruption, question and answering sequence, repair mechanism as well as back-channel signals. The results demonstrate that though they share some features in common, there are still significant differences in conversation structure between them. Based on a summary and classification of the obtained differences, the researcher attempts to probe into the cultural causes behind in terms of the three cultural orientations: collectivism versus individualism, harmony versus assertiveness, and hierarchy versus equality.The comparative study is performed from a new point of view—CA. The research outcomes may, therefore, on one hand, expand the researching domain of CA; on the other hand, awareness of the different conversation structure between Chinese and American TV talk shows may facilitate the development of the EFL learners’intercultural communicative competence. Lastly, the analysis of talk show discourse is expected to offer new insights into the audience’s comprehension and appreciation of this new media genre and provide referential value for the development and maturity of the TV talk shows typical of China’s mainland.更多还原
