【摘要】 人类对于语音的研究已有上千年的历史，国内外学者纷纷著书立说，从不同角度进行研究分析。就英语词重音的语音学研究，往往侧重于描写，没有建立什么理论。由于英语词结构缺乏简单的规则，所以词典必须有明确的反映，由此可见英语词重音是由英语本身词库决定的。普通话的词重音不像英语，其重音没有词库的规定，而学者们很难能够找到可以达成共识的一个结论，意见存在众多分歧。就普通话重音研究而言，当今学术界存在两种观点，即：由端木三提出的左重理论以及国内学者普遍认同的右重理论，两种理论自成体系。本文的目的是试图通过对两种理论的对比分析研究，试图找出两种理论中更具有解释力和说服力的一个。通过对比分析，作者发现：左重与右重理论都有着自己完整的理论系统，对普通话二字词、三字组以及四字组有一定的分析解释力。但是，在分析了两种理论各自特点之后，笔者也发现这两种理论自身都存在一定的不足，例如：左重理论缺乏母语者的心理实现性为基础；而右重理论的实验过程又非常容易出现偏差，从而影响到实验结果。最后，笔者尝试提出未来研究的新路：可以尝试从认知科学出发，研究母语者思想运作模式，或许可以成为普通话词重音研究的新方向。更多还原

【Abstract】 In any language you listen to, you will notice that some syllables sound stronger and more noticeable than others. In English, for example, the middle syllable of the word ’tomato’ is clearly stronger than the first and last syllables. We say that the middle syllable is stressed.In the study of phonetics and phonology, stress has always been the focus of researchers’ work. For some languages, stress is easy to feel, such as English. However, stress in other languages is less obvious. Chinese belongs to the latter kind. As people pay more attention on the research of stress in Standard Chinese (SC) during recent years, using phonetic experiments to analyze the stress in SC has become the mainstream.There are two important theories about the SC stress patterns: the final stress theory and the left-headed stress theory. Each one has its own supporters consisted of domestic and foreign linguists. The thesis’ aim is to find out which one is more powerful in explaining the SC word stress. After the comparative study, it is interesting to see that each one has its own system and the system can explain the SC stress phenomenon. However, after analyzing the two theories, the author finds out that each theory has its own flaws. Moreover, the author intends to find out the specialty of Chinese language and the reason why the stress of SC is hard to perceive.Finally, the author gives an idea about further discussion. Since nowadays theories both have their own weakness, we may try to do the research from the cognitive point of view, doing some mental research, maybe we may get a perfect answer for the SC stress pattern.更多还原
