半导体激光器列阵外腔锁相实验及高阶侧模锁定研究

【摘要】 半导体激光器列阵(LDA)具有体积小、重量轻、电光转换效率高、可靠性好等特点,在光通信、泵浦固体激光器、生物和医学等诸多领域得到了广泛应用。但宽条高功率LDA较差的空间相干性影响了其出射光的光束质量,限制了LDA在某些方面的应用。实验上,可以采用外腔锁相技术对此加以改善,即通过外腔镜耦合使LDA各发光单元的波长一致位相锁定,使光场实现相干叠加,从而达到改善光束质量的目的。 前人曾对LDA外腔锁相进行理论分析和实验工作,验证了外腔锁相的可行性并取得了一定的研究成果。在此基础上,本文详细地介绍了外腔锁相的实验装置和准直透镜的具体调节方法,并在实验上较好的实现了LDA的外腔锁相,且发现了前人所未曾报道过的LDA高阶侧模锁定的现象。 实验装置主要分为锁相系统和测量系统两部分,作为主体部分的外腔是由一个快轴准直透镜和一面高反射率平面镜组成。在外腔锁相实验中,准直透镜的调节是整个锁相系统调节的第一步,也是最为敏感和关键的一步。本文在大量的实验过程中,总结出对应观测档板上不同形状的光斑所应采取的调节方法和技巧。 实验测得了自由运行下LDA及其19个发光单元的近场、远场、光谱和阈值电流等特性,观察表明,在自由运行时LDA各单元的光学特性差异明显,且

【Abstract】 Laser Diode Array (LDA) is characterized by its compactness, lightweight, high electro-light conversion efficiency and reliability, etc. It has been widely used in many fields such as optical communication, pumping solid laser, biology and medicine. However the poor spatial coherence of high-power LDA’s emitters worsens its output quality and limits its application in some other fields. The method of external cavity can be used to phase lock the LDA and make all the emitters working in the same wavelength. So the LDA’s output quality can be improved.The predecessors have done certain theoretical analysis and experimental work on the LDA phase locked in external cavity. They have demonstrated the feasibility of the method and gotten useful research findings. The experimental apparatus system and specific accommodating method of the fast-axis collimating lens are introduced in detail in this article. We realized LDA’s phase locking in experiment, even found the phenomenon of high-order lateral modes’ locking which has not been reported before.The experimental apparatus system is made up of phase locking system and measuring system. A fast-axis collimating lens and a high reflectivity plane mirror compose the external cavity which is the main part in experiment. The accommodation of fast-axis collimating lens is the first step of the whole experimental system’s accommodation. It is also the most sensitive and important step. In this article, we have summarized out the specific accommodating method of fast-axis collimating lens from plenty of experimental processes.
