19世纪英国功利主义教育思想研究

【摘要】 教育功利性伴随教育发展始终,19世纪英国功利主义教育思想的独特性表现为:关注现实,强调实用,尊重个体,提倡民主。 迄今为止,关于19世纪英国功利主义教育思想的研究,大都以介绍边沁、密尔父子的教育思想为主要形式,属于个人教育思想专题研究,对19世纪英国功利主义教育思想整体方面的把握相对薄弱。另一方面,多数著述未把斯宾塞列为功利主义教育思想的代表,本文则根据史料,将其纳入研究范畴。 论文尝试以问题为切入点的研究视角,从横向上剖析19世纪英国功利主义教育思想的特征。本文密切关注19世纪英国功利主义教育思想产生的时代背景,从追求幸福的教育目的观、基于功利的德育观和实用的课程论三个纬度向读者展示19世纪英国功利主义教育思想的原貌,力求客观地评价其在教育史上的地位和在理论及实践方面的影响。同时,论文结尾点出19世纪英国功利主义教育思想的闪光点,说明其有益的启示和将其推向极端可能引至的危险,今人可从中获益。
【Abstract】 The utility of education stayed with the development of education, the British utilitarian educational thought in the 19th century is featured by its typical characteristics, namely, paying attention to the realism, showing much respect to individual, emphasizing practicality and calling for democracy.So far, researches into the British utilitarian educational thought in the 19th century have been done mainly in the form of each representative, Bentham and Two Mills, so it is difficult to master it as a whole. Besides, in most studies, Spencer is excluded in the history of the British utilitarian educational thoughts, but here, I will take him into account after I read so much material about it.In this article, the main characteristics of the British utilitarian educational thought In the 19th century are presented clearly in the "problem-oriented" way. First, the article introduces its background related to education. Next, three points of utilitarian educational thought lays out in front of readers, that is, the aim of education-seeking for happiness, moral education based on utility, practical curriculum. Then, some objective estimation on its status and influence, both academic and practical, is made. Finally, in order to make the article more significant, I point out its flashy part, at the same time, I list the beneficial revelation as well as the harmful ones. So people of today can learn something from it.
