TFT LCD RGB显示模组的设计与测试

【摘要】 TFT LCD是目前唯一在亮度、对比度、功耗、寿命、体积和重量等综合性能上全面赶上和超过CRT的显示器,它性能优良、大规模生产特性好,自动化程度高,原材料成本低廉,发展空间广阔,将迅速成为新世纪的主流显示产品。目前,LCD模组常用的工作方式有总线接口模式,分为串行和并行两种方式,使用静态画面来测试显示品质。然而,当今时代的数码显示,尤其是中、大尺寸显示屏,几乎都是完成动画显示。所以,在进行测试时,使用动态画面,将会更加有效的测试LCM性能和品质。RGB模式可以在低功耗的情况下完成动画显示,是目前行业里研究的焦点。DE传输模式是RGB工作方式的一种,虽然不能完全体现RGB工作方式实现动画显示的优点,但是,研究DE传输模式的LCM是进入RGB工作方式LCM设计的入口点。本课题基于TFT LCM的驱动原理,设计了一款2.83inch TFT LCM模组,并对其模组设计、测试方案进行了研究。此款模组使用三颗驱动IC芯片,具有26万色彩色显示,240(RGB)×320个点象素,工作方式为DE传输方式。驱动信号主要为使能信号和基准时钟信号,并要求二者具有严格的同步性。使用单一的ARM7系统不能设计出完全同步的信号,所以采用CPLD和ARM7系统共同完成测试工作。工作中首先进行2.83 inch TFT LCM的设计工作。再通过CPLD,ARM7系统软、硬件设计建立测试系统。经过调试,最终测试系统得到了DE传输模式所需要的驱动信号,使2.83inch TFT LCM能够显示基本的静态测试画面,并且显示效果良好。
【Abstract】 TFT LCD not only has excellent performance of high brightness, high contrast, low consumption, long lifetime, small volume, light weight, but also has excellent performance as the same as that of CRT, such as high automatic production, low cost materials, large development and etc. TFT LCD has dominated the flat display market.At present, the interface mode of many LCM (LCD module) products is Bus interface mode, which can be divided into Serial Peripheral interface and Parallel Peripheral interface. It can be used to test TFT LCM products adopting still pictures. With the development of display technology, a lot of middle or large size display screen would be required to display moving picture, so testing LCM with moving picture would evaluate the quality of LCM more effectively. LCM worked in RGB interface mode can display moving picture with low consumption, so RGB interface mode has become the research focus. DE transfer mode is one of RGB interface mode, it can’t lay out the advantage of RGB interface mode sufficiently, but it is the beginning of design LCM worked in RGB interface mode.2.83 inch TFT LCM, which works in DE transfer mode, was designed. The TFT LCM including 3 driver IC chips, HD66783×1 as Gate driver, HD66779×2 as Source driver, has 262K colors depth, 240(RGB)×320 dots pixels. The TFT LCM driver signals were enable signal and fiducial clock signal, which were strict with synchronization. Single ARM7 couldn’t supply synchronous signals, so test system was developed with CPLD and ARM7. Finally 2.83 inch TFT LCM can display still pictures after debugging.
