莫来石—钛酸铝窑具的制备、结构与性能的研究

【摘要】 钛酸铝陶瓷是集低热膨胀系数和高熔点为一体的新型陶瓷材料,但该材料存在着两大致命弱点:一是晶体在各个晶轴方向上的差异很大,导致在冷却时产生大量微裂纹,机械强度很低;二是在750~1300℃区间易分解为金红石和刚玉相,失去了钛酸铝的优良性能,因而大大限制了这种材料的推广应用。 本文采用复相材料的方法引入莫来石抑制钛酸铝的分解,制备了莫来石—钛酸铝(ATM)复相材料,并利用该复相材料进行了莫来石—钛酸铝窑具的制备研究,借助于X-射线衍射、扫描电子显微镜等手段研究了复相材料添加量、引入粒度、红柱石和氧化铝纤维的添加量以及烧成温度等对莫来石—钛酸铝高温窑具结构和性能的影响。 研究了复相材料(ATM)加入量和颗粒尺寸对窑具性能的影响,结果表明,ATM加入量以20%为宜,且以中、细颗粒形式引入最好。 为了改善窑具的常温性能,一方面在基质中引入具有较大膨胀效应的红柱石来弥补由于复相材料在烧成过程中收缩产生的裂纹,以此改善窑具的性能。研究结果表明:在基质中加入15%的红柱石时,强度虽未明显提高,但窑具抗热震性有所提高。另一方面,在控制复相材料的粒度的同时,在基质中引入氧化铝纤维,通过纤维的增强增韧作用改善制品的性能。但研究结果显示并未达到预期的目标。

【Abstract】 Aluminum titanate is a new ceramic material with high melting point and low thermal expansion coefficient. But the material has two fatal defects: one was that the crystal has very big anisotropy which made its mechanical strength very low because there was much crack in the material when cooling;another was that it was very easy to decompose into rutile and corundum between 750-1300℃, which made it lose the excellent properties. So its application was very restricted.In this paper, adding mullite in mullite -aluminum titanate composites, restricted decomposion of aluminum titanate. Mullite- aluminum titanate kiln furniture was fabricated with this kind of composite. The influences of adding quantity, particle size of mullite-aluminum titanate composite, adding quantity of andaludite and alumina fiber, firing temperature on the microstructure and properties of mullite- aluminum titanate kiln furniture were investigated by XRD, SEM etc.The influence of the adding quantity and particle size of mullite -aluminum titanate composites on the properties of the kiln furniture was studied. The results showed: The proper adding quantity of mullite -aluminum titanate composites is of 20%. The proper particle size is middle particle size.In order to improving properties of kiln furniture, we use andaludite to control the crack produced during firing by means of the volume expansion when its mullitization at high temperature. The study show that when we add 15% andaludite, the thermal shock resistance of kiln furniture was increased. But the strength of kiln furniture could not be increase remarkly.The effect of adding quantity of aluminia fiber on the properties of mullite -aluminumtitanate kiln furniture was investigated. The result showed that adding aluminia fiber couldn’t improve the properties of mullite -aluminum titanate kiln furniture when controlling the particle size of matrix materials.
