【Abstract】 From Sui to Tang dynasty, the Chinese traditional architecture was on the top point of the developments like other sides of Chinese antient society. It’s achievements had many influences on the university campus masterplans and architectures today. In my article, I’ll discuse some main features only. First, the cities especially the capitals of Chang’an and Luo’yang were large in land ranges and were divided into many same “nets of square”. The “nets of square”system is the mark of the city’s masterplan in the stage of Sui to Tang dynasty. Architects that times paid much attentions to the selections of city’s situation and combinations between cities and nature. We also use the “nets of square”in the campus masterplans now. We divided a campus into a few unit parts sometimes. It’s a rule that a campus must have better environments and suit for the nature. Second, the palace areas were separated from other areas used by citizens and usually located in the noth part of the city. The palace arrangement was related with the standard symmetry issues. The palace was often separated into two parts named hall area and garden area. Some models of present campuses are as same as the palace areas. Many universities are out of city’s downtown. They have their own zones. Some of them have the same masterplan as palace areas. Third, like Han Yan hall, some palace halls had giant volumes. The “Anti-Concave”plane design of a hall was made perfect at Sui-Tang dynasty and is being used in some buildings now in campuses. Fourth, the “Concave-Roof”pattern was the sign of the roofs of ancient
