支持多媒体通信的IP网络研究

【摘要】 因特网的诞生和快速发展给人们的生活方式和工作方式带来了巨大的变化,令信息传递方式呈现出前所未有的便利和快捷。在互联网崭露头角的时代,由于受到技术水平的制约,人们在网上交流的信息大多是文字等一些要求简单的数据。比较复杂的信息,如视频和音频等多媒体方面的数据则相当有限。进入上个世纪90年代之后,随着多媒体技术与网络技术的飞速发展及融合,用户对于图像、视频等海量数据的多媒体内容在网络上传送的需求日益增长。近几年,多媒体压缩编码技术的进步以及支持多媒体通信的一些新协议(RSVP、RTP/RTCP、RTSP、MMS等等)的问世,IP网络承载多媒体业务方面的能力已经有了相当大的提高。 基于IP网络的多媒体会议系统,是利用视/音频技术和IP数据通信技术,通过IP网络(如Internet、Intranet、LAN、WAN)在两点或多个地点之间建立可视通信,实现图像、语音及数据交流的一种会议形式。与会者利用PC终端、摄像机和话筒,既能实时地看到对方的发言人和会场场景,也能听到对方的声音。在配备了电子白板、传真机等辅助通信设备以及相应软件之后,还可以与对方会场的与会人员进行研讨或磋商,在效果上可以替代现场会议。作为一种现代化的多媒体通信工具,它在及时召开重要会议、提高工作效率、节约时间和经费开支等方面的重要价值已逐渐为人们所认可。 在此背景下,本论文讨论了基于IP网络的多媒体会议系统的分析与设计中所涉及的几项关键技术:多媒体内容制作所采用的图像压缩标准MPEG系列;支持多媒体通信的新的更加有效的网络协议;存贮多媒体资源的数据库技术:保障IP网络上的多媒体业务服务质量的方案;视频文件的处理所采用的目前能适应当前IP网络及多媒体应用现状的流媒体技术。 本论文注意理论联系实际,从对现有技术的理论分析、比较和总结入手,选用了先进的、合理的技术,如:怎样对要传输的多媒体信息更好地进行压缩编码,使之更易于进行传送;如何提高IP网络多媒体业务的服务质量等。本论文在综合运用以上技术的基础上,采用模块化设计的方法和流媒体技术,设计了一个多媒体会议系统MCS的初步实现模型。

【Abstract】 The emergence and fast development of the Internet greatly change the life style of human being and the way human being work, also make the transmission of information take on the unprecedented convenience and promptitude. In the first Internet age, most of the information that people communicate in the Internet is some simple data such as written word, and the information of the multimedia is very limited. In the 1990s, with the fast development and fusion of the multimedia technology and Internet technology, there is an increase in the requirement. The capability of IP network to carry multimedia has a great progress with development of multimedia compression coding technology and the emergence of some new protocols such as RSVP, RTP/RTCP, RTSP, and MMS.Video/audio technology and IP technology is used in MCS. The user use PC, vidicon and mike, so they can see and hear each other. With the help of whiteboard and some software, people can talk with another side. As a modern tool, it is very useful. People have recognized its important value.In such environment, this paper just describes and discusses several key technologies when analyze and design: Image compression standard MPEG in multimedia facture; service quality scheme in multimedia promulgation; the streaming media technology in video file management that is fitful for current IP Internet and current situation in multimedia application; some new and better protocol; databank technology which is used to store multimedia resource.The thesis emphasizes relating the theory with practice. We analyzed, compared and outlined the present technology and theory, then chose the advanced and reasonable skills according to practical requirement of the projects. For example, how to effectively compress and code multimedia information to enable it easier to be transferred and how to promote the service quality of IP network. We tried to promote the multi-functions of the system to satisfy the multi-requirement of users and pay attention to promote the extension and fusionof MCU. Based on those points, this paper describes a module method and how to design a multimedia conference system.
