网络备份系统元数据存取方法的研究与实现

【摘要】 随着信息量的快速增长,信息的重要性也在不断的提高,而数据作为信息的表现形式,其完整性和安全性成为系统安全的重要内容。备份技术是维护系统安全性和可用性的最重要的手段之一。构建基于网络存储系统的网络备份系统,可以有效的满足应用和性能的需求。网络存储将存储和网络结合起来,是当前正在迅速发展的技术。统一存储网在物理上采用基于IP的存储网络,利用存储虚拟化技术管理存储网络,将NAS和SAN融合起来。通过实现存储系统的数据共享,减少存储系统的管理开销,达到优化使用存储系统的目的。分析了目前网络备份系统的原理和系统结构,并对与网络备份相关的一些重要技术进行了深入的研究。网络备份是网络存储系统的具体应用。设计与实现了一个基于TCP/IP的网络备份系统。它包括三部分:基于Windows服务器的备份服务器管理软件;基于数据源的客户端和备份源代理软件;基于存储资源的备份目的端代理软件。从这几个方面对元数据的处理进行了设计,最后对核心数据结构、核心数据库和数据接口进行详细设计。为了进一步提高网络备份系统的性能,引入散列算法(hash),计算出文件和数据块的指纹,利用起索引作用的树形结构实现快照,可以避免备份和恢复性能的折衷,提供压缩备份功能,提高系统的数据安全性,维护数据一致性。在100M局域网环境中对网络备份系统进行性能测试,结果表明:这个网络备份系统具备高于使用FTP协议传输的数据传输率。

【Abstract】 With the rapid growth of information, the importance of information is increasing, the completeness and security of data —— the correlative objectives of information become the most important things of the whole system. The backup technology is one of the most important methods to maintain the security and availability of the system. Based on network storage, a network backup system can be built to satisfy the needs of applications and performance.Network storage that band together storage and network is being developed rapidly. USN (Unified Storage Network) based on storage over IP is merged by SAN and NAS through the management of storage virtualization. It can optimize the storage system by reducing the expense of management and sharing the storage data. By analyzing the principle and structure of the network backup system, some important techniques of network backup are thoroughly researched.Network backup is the concrete application of a network storage system. A network backup system based on TCP/IP is successfully implemented. It includes three parts: Backup Server Management Software on Windows server, Client and Backup Source Proxy Software on data source, Backup Destination Proxy Software on storage resource. From these aspects, the way of metadata’s management is designed. Finally the kernel data structures, database and interface functions are designed in detail.In order to improve the performance of the network backup system, a hash function computes the fingerprint which is a unique hash of a data block’s or a file’s contents. To realize Snapshot, some fingerprints construct a tree structure storing a linear sequence of blocks. The approach can avoid the tradeoff between the performances of backup and restore operations, and it can also provide compress backup, increase data security and maintain data consistency.From the experiments in 100M Ethernet environment, it is concluded that the speed of this network backup system is higher than that of FTP in our test environment.
