大容量移动邮件系统的设计和实现

【摘要】 电子邮件作为Internet最基本、最流行的服务之一。随着网民与日俱增,特别是,随着移动设备的广泛使用,使用移动设备来访问Internet资源已经成为一种趋势。传统的邮件系统存在着种种的局限性,在负载不断增加时日益明显,加上对移动设备支持不够。为此研究了大容量移动邮件系统,它有扩展性强、可移植性好、速度快、性能稳定和支持移动设备等特点。本文旨在开发一种不仅能够以一般Web方式接入,还能够以WAP和SMS方式接入的大容量移动邮件系统。论文首先分析了对于移动数据业务,特别是移动邮件系统的来自用户和移动服务提供商的需求驱动,然后详细介绍了移动邮件系统的主要协议,包括WAP协议族,WAP的承载网络,短消息接口协议以及基本邮件协议。并探讨了邮件系统的用户认证、负载均衡及邮件存储。应用Linux虚拟服务器实现了基于第四层交换的邮件系统的负载均衡,并且进行了性能分析。在论文的第四章和第五章,作者结合自己参与设计和实现的一种大容量移动邮件系统,讨论了如何保持传统的邮件系统体系结构不变,通过功能扩展使其支持移动业务,以及移动邮件系统的功能需求,并给出了这种移动邮件系统的详细设计方案。论文还进行了WAP邮件和SMS邮件的功能和可扩展性测试,测试结果表明WAP邮件和SMS邮件模块不仅达到了全部功能要求,而且系统吞吐率高,在单一服务器的情况下能够支持很高的并发访问率。

【Abstract】 E-mail has been one the most basic and popular Internet services. As the popularity of Internet grows with each passing day , especially, with moving mass use of equipment, use mobile devices to visit Internet resources to become a kind of trend. The traditional mail system has all sorts of limitation, obvious day by day while increasing constantly in load, in addition, it is not enough to support mobile devices. To solve this problem, the author studied and developed a large-scale mobile email system. it have person who expand to be better, the portability is fine , fast, performance stabilizes and supports characteristics , such as mobile device ,etc..This thesis is about the design and implementation of a large-scale mobile accessible email system, which not only allows regular Web browser based access, also can provide WAP and SMS access to cell phone users. The thesis starts with the introduction of the basic technologies of mobile email system, mainly on WAP and SMPP protocols. And the authentication ,user authentication, load balance and storage technology. With Linux Virtual Server, this paper implements load balancebased on layer-4 switch, and has carried on the analysis of performance.Chapter four and chapter five in thesis, the thesis presents the design of a large-scale mobile email system where the author once participated as a core member. The thesis focuses on how to make a traditional mail system “mobile accessible” through functional extensions without changing main underlying architectures. The thesis has also carried on WAP mail and the function of SMS mail and expansibility <WP=6>test, the test result indicates that WAP mail and SMS mail module are not merely up to all functions to require, and the handling up rate is high systematically, can support very high complicated rate of people logging in in case of single server.
