BGO晶体探头的温度特性研究

【摘要】 锗酸铋晶体,即Bi4Ge3O12,简称BGO,是一种性能良好的多功能闪烁晶体,它具有较强的阻止射线能力、很高的闪烁效率(是目前探测γ射线效率最高的一种闪烁体),而且具有不易潮解、机械加工性能好等优点,广泛应用于高能物理、核物理、空间物理、核医学、地质勘察和其它工业领域。但是BGO存在着一个很大的弱点就是荧光转换效率受温度的影响很大,在实验中,由此便导致了系统的不稳定性,从而产生系统误差,使测量精度减小,实验结果的可信度降低。针对在检测实验中使用BGO探测器对γ能谱进行测量时由于温度的改变引起的峰位漂移现象、分辨率变化等问题,我们研制了一套温度控制装置,对BGO晶体的温度特性作了研究,此研究将对BGO在其它领域的应用起到一定的指导作用,本文就对此进行介绍。

【Abstract】 Bismuth germinate crystal, that is Bi4Ge3O12, in short, BGO, is a very excellent multifunctional scintillator. BGO crystal has many advantages, for example, it has a strong point in preventing radial and is highly efficient (the highest efficiency in detecting gamma-rays at present), at the same time, its deliquescence is unlikely and its Mechanical quality is very high. So it is widely used in high-energy physics,nuclear physics,space physics and other industry fields.But BGO has also a great weakness that the transformation efficiency of its fluorescence is susceptible to temperature, and this will lead to the instability of the whole system and then the error will arise, Consequently,the precision and the reliability will decrease.In this instance, a temperature-controlled setup is developed, which is aimed at peak-shifting in energy spectrum and changing in energy resolution caused by changing in temperature when BGO detector is used to detect the gamma-rays in experiment. And we have a research in the temperature characteristic of BGO crystal; this study will also play a guidance role in other fields. In this article, the study is introduced.
