基于光强度调制的光纤检波器研究

【摘要】 光纤检波器是光纤传感技术在海洋技术上的重要应用,它是目前最理想的水声信号探测装置,在军事反潜战中扮演着重要角色。早期的水声检波器是采用压电陶瓷和PVDF制成的压电水听器。美国海军研究实验室(NRL)于80年代初首先将发展光纤水听器列入军事战略发展计划。与传统水声检波器相比,光纤检波器具有频带宽、灵敏度高、抗电磁干扰、体积小、重量轻、可设计成任意形状、兼具传感和传输于一体等优点。在各种光纤检波器系统中,研究和应用最广泛的是相位干涉型检波器,其用途已逐渐从原来的纯军事用途拓展到工程和民用领域,并在海洋油藏监测中发挥着越来越重要的作用。 但干涉型光纤检波器也存在结构复杂、成本高、信号易受温度等环境因素影响等问题。从结构简单、价廉和实用的角度考虑,近年来,国内外石油勘探和军事反潜等领域提出了研制基于光强度调制原理的水声检波器的想法。因此,国内外学者也在这一技术上做了多种理论和实验研究工作。 国家高技术研究发展计划(以下简称“863”计划)在制定2001~2005年开发任务时,决定将研制光纤拖缆地震检波器阵列作为渤海重大专项海上时移地震油藏监测技术课题的一个子项目,进行重点扶持。本论文的课题内容即是该项目的组成部分。 论文分别对基于模式耦合理论和光线理论的光纤微弯损耗的机理进行了分析,并设计了相应的实验结构对理论分析的结果进行了验证;对传感器的结构设计和其中的一些关键问题进行了讨论;对水声信号的检测原理和信号的校准方法进行了介绍;最后,对所研制的基于强度调制型的光纤水声检波器系统进行了综合的实验和分析。

【Abstract】 The fiber-optic hydrophone based on the optical fiber sensing technology is the most ideal underwater acoustic signal detector at present and plays an important role in military wars. The earliest hydrophone is constructed from piezoelectricity porcelain and PVDF. Naval Research Laboratory( NRL) of America was absorbed in the research of fiber-optic hydrophone at the beginning of 80’s and placed the development of fiber hydrophone in military strategic plan. England, Japan, Russia, French and Italian etc., also started to research and develop the fiber-optic hydrophone one after another.Compared with traditional piezoelectricity hydrophones, fiber-optic hydrophones have many advantages such as wide frequency band, high sensitivity, free of electromagnetic interference, small volume, light in weight, random shapes to be designed, integrating optical transmission and sensor. The phase interferometric hydrophone of the all is investigated most extensively, and its applied ranges have extended to the engineering and civil fields instead of the pure military use. For example, it has become more and more important to monitor the reservoir of the sea.But the phase interferometric hydrophone has the following disadvantages, such as complex structure, high cost, and the measurement results can be easily effected by the surrounding environment. Thus, in the present years, researchers in China and abroad show great interests on those fiber hydrophones based on the measurement principle of light-intensity modulation, and much theoretical and experimental work has been carried out in this field.The research work in this thesis is one part of the national 863 project.In this thesis, mode-coupling theory and ray tracing theory for fiber micro-bend loss analysis are used, and the corresponding experimental setup are implemented. The sensor structure and a sensing system as a fiber hydrophone which is based onlight-intensity modulation are also developed. Some key problems in this system are discussed. Measurement principle and calibration method are introduced in this thesis. Finally, experiments and analysis of the whole system are carried out to verify the feasibility of the proposed sensor structure and system.
