【摘要】 《新青年》是中国最为重要的现代期刊之一，它使得中国文学在“五四”时期发生巨大变化。《新青年》不仅直接促使了新文学的诞生，影响了“五四”时期新的文学观念和理论，并且对于现代文学乃至当代文学的发展状况也同样有着深刻影响。本文选取一代名刊《新青年》作为研究的主要对象，探讨其与“五四”新文学的关系，试图揭示《新青年》如何促使了新文学的诞生，如何影响到“五四”时期的文学风貌和新文学发展道路。 正文分为四个部分。 第一部分，全面考察《新青年》和现代白话文运动之间的关系，分析《新青年》在现代白话文运动的兴起、发展乃至胜利的全过程中的推动作用。最早提倡现代白话文的文章刊发于《新青年》之上，《新青年》凭借自身的舆论传播力量，运用各种传播技巧，催生了现代白话文运动，并使之迅速扩大。《新青年》促进了白话文理论的讨论和建设，使现代白话文理论从笼统走向精细；在它之上，产生了中国最早的现代白话文作品，并从幼稚逐渐走向成熟。《新青年》对现代白话文的宣传巩固了白话文运动的成果，在社会上产生了巨大影响，从而使现代白话文在短短几年时间之内，彻底取代了文言在书面语言中的正统地位。 第二部分，分析《新青年》对“五四”文学观念的影响。《新青年》重视文学的现实功利性，它提倡的实用主义观念将文学看作是社会改造的工具，使得现代文学与生俱来的带有社会启蒙观念。《新青年》还带有浓郁的科学主义观念，试图通过理论来指导文学的实践。总体而言，《新青年》文学观念的基础是普遍的进化论观念，它促使《新青年》中孕育的新文学具有了现代的色彩，成为真正意义上的现代文学。 第三部分，梳理了《新青年》有关“五四”新文学的论争。《新青年》同人重视“通信”一栏，选取具有争论价值的主题展开讨论，讨论涉及新文学各个领域，主要是围绕着新文学的语言、内容和体裁等三个方面。新文学的倡导者们在《新青年》上开展轰轰烈烈的争论，推动了新文学向新的方向行进，也扩大了新文学的影响范围。 第四部分，讨论《新青年》与“五四”新文学理论之间的密切联系。无可否认，《新青年》本身影响了新文学理论的诞生，《新青年》同人的文艺观虽不尽相同，但在很多问题上都能达成统一。他们从各自的角度提出了自己的文学主张，对新文学理论都有着自己的建树:胡适以进化论来强调白话文的时代优势，陈独秀重视文学的政治社会使命，周作人强调人的改造……在《新青年》上，这些文学理论主张很快显示出它自身的价值，新文学在“五四”时期就是按照这些设计者的思路发生和发展的。 附录是对近年来《新青年》研究中出现的某些错误问题所作的简单评析。更多还原

【Abstract】 <New Youth>is the most important journal of modern Chinese. The modern Chinese literature rooted from <New Youth> This dissertation is to discuss the relationship between <New Youth>and the May-4th New Literature.The full text is divided into four sections.The first section shows that <New Youth>played an enormous role of promotion in the rise, growth and victorious end of the movement of modern vernacular Chinese. In the beginning, all those articles that advocated vernacular Chinese appeared in <New Youth> which accordingly stirred the movement up and accelerated it rapidly with its own power of spreading opinions and propagating techniques. In this connection, <New Youth’s>propaganda of modern vernacular Chinese helped a great deal strengthens the fruit of the movement and exerted an immeasurable influence in society. As a result, modern vernacular Chinese was able to take the place of classic Chinese in a matter of only a few years.The second section analyzes how the <New Youth>affected the conception of May-4th New Literature. Attaching importance to the utility of society, <New Youth>tried to use the theory to guide the practice of literature. In summary, the literature conception of <New Youth>is based on the evolutionism, which urged the May-4th New Literature into the modern mode and the real modern literature at last.The argument on the <New Youth>is cleared in the third section. The column communication on <New Youth>thought highly of some subjects which is worth debating, including language, content and form. The hot discussion in <The New Youth>expanded effect range and accelerate the victory of the new literature.The forth section discusses the relationship between the theory of May-4th New Literature and <New Youth> It is no denied that <New Youth>promoted the birth of new literature’s theory. And the literature theories on <New Youth>demonstrated their value soon. Under advocating of the designers of <New Youth>such as Hu Shi, Chen Duxiu, Zhou Zuoren and so on, the Modern Chinese literature was born and growingup.The appendix is a summary of the mistakes made by researchers about <New Youth>更多还原
