基于SNMP的HFC宽带接入网管理系统的研究与开发

【摘要】 作为三大网络之一的HFC网以其真正的带宽性能、低廉的价格在网络发展中极具竞争力,然而在我国,有线电视起步较晚,HFC网络管理比较相对电信网和因特网来说要落后的多,当前有线电视网络的管理主要依靠设备仅有的一些简单的管理功能,已经不能适应HFC网络的快速发展,因此迫切需要建立一个统一有效的HFC网的管理模式与体系。 本文从网络管理的目的和功能出发,阐述了网络管理的重要意义和发展状况。在借鉴电信网管理模式TMN与计算机网络管理协议SNMP的基础上,提出了基于TMN体系与SNMP协议的HFC宽带接入网管理模型,从理论上以及TMN在电信管理中取得的成绩来看,这种模式用于HFC网络是完全可行、容易实现而且有现实意义的。 SNMP管理体系是基于管理者—代理的通信模型的,由于当前HFC接入网设备基本都不支持SNMP协议,因此我们必须扩展一个SNMP能够认知的HFC接入网设备代理,并将其嵌入到光节点设备中,然后在大家所熟悉的操作平台Windows(或linux等)系统上开发一个基于SNMP协议的HFC宽带接入网管理系统。 目前社会上有很多网络管理平台,HP OpenView的NNM就是一个通用的网管平台,它的最大优势在于被第三方开发厂商所广泛接受。HP OpenView NNM SDK提供了丰富的应用程序接口OVSNMP API,可以使用户在短期内开发出功能强大的网管软件,因此深受欢迎。 本文的重点在第五章,该章详细说明了在HP OpenView平台上进行SNMP网络管理基本功能(get、set和trap)的实现原理和过程,介绍了如何使用自定义的光节点MIB文件并将其集成到HP OpenView系统中,以及相对应自定义的MIB所实现的基本的HFC宽带接入网的管理功能。最后,我们结合代理端的嵌入式系统,在实际中实现了对光节点的有效监控和管理。

【Abstract】 HFC access network is the one of the three most important networks in the world. And because of the indeed broadband capability and the low cost, HFC has gained great advantage in the competition of the network. But the HFC network of our country was set up comparatively late. Now the management of CATV is mainly depending on the limited management capability of the devices, and this will not adapt to the development of the HFC network any longer. So, we need a more consolidated, and more effective HFC management system to solve this problem.This article is started with the network management concepts, intentions, and functions. Then, it expatiated the importance of the network managemet and some development in this field. Referenced the progress which Tele-Communication and Internet management has achieved, I brought forward a HFC access network management system based on TMN model and SNMP protocol. With the success TMN has done in the Tele-Communication network and the rapid development of SNMP, 1 think it’s a feasible, easy way to realize the HFC management. And this may have great value in the progress of HFC network.SNMP management system is based on the manager-agent model. Because of most of the HFC access devices do not support SNMP protocol now, we must first expand an agent that SNMP can realize. And then we should embed this agent software into the HFC devices. After that, this device will become an equipment managed based on SNMP protocol. It is required to develop a useful HFC access network management system software works on Windows or other familiar operation system such as Linux and so on.Nowadays, there are many good network management platforms in the world. HP OpenView is one of these platforms. The most advantage of HP OpenView is the wide acceptance by the third part devices development companies. HP OpenView NNM SDK provides abundant SNMP APIs named OVSNMP API. By using these APIs, users may develop powerful management software in short time.The fifth charpter is the key charpter of this article. This charpter explicates how to use the OVSNMP API to realize the SNMP basic functions (such as get, trap and set). And it also introduces the method how to define the HFC device MIB and then integrate it into HP OpenView system. Based on the user defined MIB and the basic operation (get, set and trap), I developed a HFC network management system software. With the cooperation of the agent, we can examine the status of the devices timely, and the software is a useful tool in practice.
