OPNET中WAP协议的实现及性能研究

【摘要】 WAP(Wireless Application Protocol)是无线应用协议之意,它融合了移动通信和Internet两项技术。它充分考虑了无线信道的固有特点(如信道稳定性差、衰减干扰大、带宽窄、时延大),以及无线终端处理能力有限,输入方式和屏幕受限制的问题。WAP是一种上层应用协议,它的另一个最大的特点就是与底层承载无关。通过WDP的适配,WAP可以在目前的移动网络中(如GSM,IS-95,GPRS),也可以在将来的第三代移动通信系统(3G)中运行。 本文首先就WAP协议层次做了简单的介绍,其次简要说明了仿真工具OPNET软件;然后从理论上分析了WAP整个协议并重点研究了WSP(Wireless Session Protocol)和WTP(Wireless Transaction Protocol)两层的功能和特点,分析他们的作用和优缺点;接着详细阐述了WAP协议在OPNET中实现的方法过程,并给出了仿真结果同时加以分析;最后分析WAP存在的问题并说明了不足之处,说明WAP的应用前景。 由于目前在OPNET中没有WAP模块,所以本文首先在OPNET中实现了WAP协议,为今后WAP性能深入研究提供了方便。
【Abstract】 WAP means Wireless Application Protocol, it integrates the mobile communication and Internet. WAP is designed to adapt to the bounds of wireless networks (such as low bandwidth, high latency, less connection stability and so on) and the bounds of wireless device (like limited input facilities, limited battery power, limited display, memory and CPU). Another characteristic of WAP is that it scales across a broad range of wireless networks and bearers. The bearers can be SMS, circuit-switched data, packet-switched data, and the networks can be GSM, IS-95, GPRS and even 3G.This paper introduces the WAP stack first and then simply introduces the simulation tool OPNET; the following part analyzes the WAP stack in theory, then research the function of WSP and WTP. After that it expatiates on the detailed procedure of modeling the WAP in OPNET and analyzes the characteristics of performance of WAP through the result of simulations. Finally this paper shows the shortage of WAP and predicts the future of WAP.Because there isn’t the WAP module in OPNET, I implement the WAP protocol in OPNET. It will facilitate the performance research of WAP for the future.
