乙烯基硅橡胶为助稳定剂的MMA/BA细乳液共聚合

【摘要】 以十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS)为乳化剂、不同分子量的乙烯基硅橡胶(VSR)作为助稳定剂,分别采用水溶性引发剂过硫酸铵(APS)和油溶性引发剂偶氮二异丁腈(AIBN)在65℃下引发细乳液聚合,成功实现了甲基丙烯酸甲酯和丙烯酸丁酯(MMA/BA)的细乳液共聚合。测定了不同助稳定剂及VSR浓度下细乳液的稳定性。研究了温度、助稳定剂分子量、助稳定剂浓度、乳化剂浓度、引发剂浓度、不同助稳定剂、不同固含量对聚合速率、聚合物颗粒大小和分布的影响。对常规乳液聚合与细乳液聚合的差异进行了比较,并测定了聚合物胶乳的电解质稳定性、胶膜的附着力和耐水性。试述了细乳液聚合水溶性引发体系和油溶性引发体系的自由基形成和引发的主要场所。通过对产物的分离、红外光谱和核磁共振谱分析,对接枝物进行了表征。同时研究了为改善涂膜性能而加入的MAA对体系的影响。

【Abstract】 Vinyl silicone rubber (VSR) containing unsaturated C=C double bonds was used as costabilizer in the miniemulsion co-polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and butyl acrylate (BA). In the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and VSR, miniemulsion of MMA/BA was prepared under ultrasonification, miniemulsion co-polymerization was then carried out with ammonium persulfate (APS) or 2, 2-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as initiator at 65. Shelf life of the miniemulsion with different costabilizers and VSR concentrations were measured. Effects of variations on the rate of co-polymerization and particle size and particle size distribution were investigated, including reaction temperatures, molecular weights of VSR, types of costabilizer, concentrations of VSR, solid contents, concentrations of SDS and different initiators. The differences between the mini- and macro-emulsion co-polymerization processes were simply discussed. The electrolyte stability of the latices, adhesion strength and the water adsorption of latex films were also studied. Whether APS or AIBN as initiator, an attempted explanation of the locus of free-radicals formation and initiation was proposed. The bonds between polyacrylate and VSR were confirmed by solvent extraction, FT-IR spectra, and ’H-NMR analysis. The effects of the adding MAA on film performance were also simply discussed.
