【Abstract】 Objective:To systematically reconstruct the historical evolution of ginger processing(Paozhi) techniques and to elucidate the potential mechanisms underlying its therapeutic effects on neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis. Methods:Through historical textual research and visualization analysis, the evolution of ginger processing techniques from the Eastern Han Dynasty to modern times was systematically examined.Network pharmacology was applied to identify the active components of ginger and their putative targets, followed by the construction of a “component-target-pathway” network.Molecular docking analysis was further conducted to evaluate the binding affinity between core active compounds and key targets. Results:Historical analysis demonstrated that ginger processing techniques evolved from simple practices to increasingly complex methods, followed by gradual standardization.Network pharmacology analysis revealed that the therapeutic effects of ginger on Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease are primarily mediated through the neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction pathway, whereas its effects on multiple sclerosis are mainly associated with the lipid and atherosclerosis pathway. The molecular docking results indicated that the core active ingredient is capable of forming a stable binding conformation with the key target. Conclusion:This study clarifies the historical trajectory of ginger processing techniques and reveals disease-specific differences in its potential therapeutic mechanisms mediated by multiple targets and pathways. These findings provide a theoretical basis for understanding the historical evolution of ginger processing methods and their relevance into modern clinical applications.
