【Abstract】 Malocclusion has a relatively high incidence during the growth and development period of children, with clinical symptoms manifesting as mandibular retrusion and crowded and irregular teeth. In recent years, early functional orthopedic techniques have been widely applied in pediatric orthodontic treatment. Leveraging the dual mechanisms of muscle function training and jaw growth guidance, these techniques can regulate mandibular sagittal development, improve tongue position and lip closure patterns, enhance the coordination of oral and maxillofacial muscle groups in children, optimize airway patency, and ensure the continuity and stability of healthy development of the pediatric oral and maxillofacial system. This article summarized the advancements in the application of early functional orthopedic techniques in the orthodontic treatment of children with malocclusions, providing precise and individualized intervention strategies for orthodontic patients, and enhancing the predictability and compliance of orthodontic treatment.更多还原
