【Abstract】 As an important representative realistic work in 19th century, The Old Curiosity Shop sketches a vast and vivid image from London to the countryside, which presents the destruction of traditional cultural memory caused by the rapid development of British industrialization. Taking the old curiosity shop, church ruins and tombs as the realms of memory, the novel shows the memory crisis and the sense of historical rupture in face of the invasion of modernization, and it reflects the conflicts between traditional cultural memory and modern life. By presenting three memory modes, namely, the storage memory, display memory and identification memory, the novel constructs three memory spaces, including the place of family, place of memorial and place of returning, to resist the modernization process. In this way, it reflects Dickens??s thoughts on social changes, urban corruptions and the moral decay in the era of transition.更多还原
