【摘要】 在跨文化交流环式传播模式中，国际学术组织的作用可以概括为三方面：一是成为本国文化的译者；二是提供文化传播的媒介；三是培育对象国文化的译者。哈佛-燕京学社成立于1928年，历经诞生与发展时期、困顿中求生存时期、中断与改革时期和恢复与华合作时期等四个发展阶段，最终形成访问学者及博士生培养项目、亚洲研究会议、学术出版及图书馆建设等三项品牌活动。从跨文化交流视角出发，哈佛-燕京学社不仅积极发展美国汉学研究，推动中华文化“走出去”,而且利用强大的校友网络，培育中美沟通的友好力量，并且通过构建学术共同体为两国人文交流提供平台。尽管目前哈佛-燕京学社在中美跨文化交流过程中还存在若干局限，但以其为代表的国际学术组织在促进中美跨文化交流和发展两国友好关系方面仍大有可为。更多还原

【Abstract】 In the circular communication model of cross-cultural communication,the role of international academic organizations can be summarized into three aspects: first,acting as interpreters of their own national culture; second,providing media for cultural dissemination; and third,cultivating interpreters of the target country ’s culture. Since its founding in 1928,the Harvard-Yenching Institute has gone through four developmental stages: its establishment and development,struggling for survival in adversity,suspension and reform,and resuming cooperation with China. Eventually,it has developed three signature activities: visiting scholar and doctoral student training programs,Asian Studies conferences,and academic publishing as well as library development. From the perspective of cross-cultural communication,the Harvard-Yenching Institute has not only actively promoted the development of Sinology in the United States and facilitated the “going global”of Chinese culture,but also leveraged its strong alumni network to cultivate friendly forces for communication between China and the United States,and provided a platform for people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries by establishing an academic community. Although the Harvard-Yenching Institute still has limitations in China-U.S. crosscultural communication at present,international academic organizations represented by it still have great potential to promote China-U.S. cross-cultural communication and foster friendly relations between the two countries.更多还原
