【Abstract】 Influenced by the intellectual currents of Qianlong — Jiaqing Han Learning, Ru Lin Wai Shi shows an academic tendency in many aspects.Wu Jingzi integrates his philological insights — particularly those drawn from the study of The Book of Songs — into the narrative, allowing characters to interpret and and debate poetic lines within the fictional world. The novel also demonstrates meticulous attention to ritual practices, provides deliberate and textured depictions of local customs, and incorporates specialized knowledge of medicine and pharmacology.
