【Abstract】 Based on the data of China’s direct investment in 52 African countries from 2003 to 2022, the study examines the impact of institutional distance on China’s direct investment in Africa from the perspective of bilateral investment agreements. The KSI index method is used to measure the political institutional distance, and the difference in per capita GDP is used to measure the economic institutional distance. The study deeply explores the influence of the two on China’s direct investment in Africa and the regulatory role of bilateral investment agreements. China and African countries should deepen the signing and implementation of bilateral investment agreements,reduce the impact of institutional distance, and promote the healthy development of China’s direct investment in Africa and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.更多还原
