【Abstract】 The use of chemical defleecing agents to induce passive wool shedding in sheep is a necessary measure to address the current challenges of manual shearing, which is time-consuming, labor-intensive, costly, and prone to causing physiological stress responses in sheep. This review primarily summarizes the current application status, mechanisms of action, and existing problems of chemical defleecing agents in sheep production management both domestically and internationally, with a particular focus on the application of cyclophosphamide in sheep defleecing. In addition, future development trends of chemical defleecing agents are discussed, aiming to provide insights for the development of efficient, safe, and low-cost chemical defleecing agents for livestock.更多还原
