【Abstract】 Abdel Aziz Hamdy is a renowned translator in the Arabic-speaking world and a key founder of Egyptian sinology. Over a nearly fifty-year academic career, he has dedicated himself to the Arabic translation of Chinese literature and the teaching of Chinese language, playing a pivotal role in the development of Egyptian sinology and making outstanding contributions to cultural exchanges between China and the Arab world. In 2024, he was awarded the 17th Special Book Award of China. This interview focuses on Professor Aziz’s experiences in translating Chinese literature, exploring the history of the Arabic translation of Chinese literature, as well as issues related to the source text selection, the publishing landscape and the mission of sinologist translators from the perspective of exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. The interview aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the current state of translation and dissemination of Chinese literature in the Arab world, thereby offering insights for the global dissemination of Chinese literature.更多还原
