【Abstract】 Social security for rural residents constitutes a vital cornerstone for advancing Chinese-style modernization and common prosperity. At present, China’s rural social security system has been continuously improved, its coverage has been continuously expanded, and its security efficacy has been gradually enhanced. Nevertheless, problems still remain, such as low and regionally unbalanced security levels, fragmented systems with inadequate convergence, and prominent contradictions between the supply and demand of elderly care services. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, it is imperative to promote the transformation of rural social security from a basic livelihood security-oriented model to a fair and sustainable one. A social security system compatible with rural revitalization should be constructed by coordinating urban and rural social security systems, expanding coverage, strengthening service capacity and optimizing fiscal investment, so as to remedy the shortcomings in rural people’s livelihood.更多还原
