“人工智能+”背景下科学传播与普及的三个基本问题

【摘要】 “人工智能+”行动赋予了科学传播与普及事业新的时代使命,并由此带来三个亟待回应的基本问题。第一,生成式人工智能的普及推动公众角色从被动技术消费者转变为主动协作者,传统的科学素质、数字素养与技能已难以满足新的技术应用需求,提升全民AI胜任力成为新时代科普事业的重要任务。第二,面对以AI for Science为代表的“形成中的科学和技术”,必须超越对成熟知识的传播,探索“行动中的科普”新范式,以应对高速迭代、高度不确定性技术带来的信任与治理挑战。第三,人工智能在赋能科普实践与研究范式的同时,带来了伪科普泛滥的外部风险,以及应用流于形式、内容趋于浅薄的内部挑战。系统回应上述问题,是科学传播与普及事业适应人工智能时代发展的重要议题。

【Abstract】 "Artificial Intelligence+"(AI+) initiative has endowed the cause of science communication and popularization with a new historical mission, thereby arising three fundamental issues that require urgent responses. Firstly, the popularization of generative AI is transforming the public’s role from passive technology consumers into active collaborators. Traditional both scientific literacy and skills, and digital ones are no longer sufficient for emerging technological applications, which results in the enhancement of public AI competence a crucial task for science popularization in the new era. Secondly, in the face of "science and technology in the making" exemplified by AI for Science, it is imperative to transcend beyond the dissemination of established knowledge and to explore a new paradigm of "science popularization in action", to respond the trust and governance challenges resulting from rapidly evolving technologies with high uncertainty. Finally, while empowering the practice and research paradigms of science popularization, AI also brings external risks such as the proliferation of pseudo??science, as well as internal challenges including superficial application and content shallowness. Systematically addressing these issues is an important endeavor for science communication and popularization to adapt to the development of AI era.
