【Abstract】 From the perspective of shi, a concept from Chinese philosophy, the paper attempts a new explanation of the relation between language and reality. From this perspective, the paper proposes that language, reality, as well as cognition, can all be recognized as what man does or shi, and it is by means of man’s doing that reality decides language,and in turn language reflects reality. The perspective of shi is of great value both in theory and practice, since it is expected to provide a new approach to the study of the relation between language and reality, and the analysis and explanation of specific linguistic expressions.更多还原
