地铁开通对网约车出行特征的影响研究
Research on the Influence of Subway Opening on Passengers’ Ride-hailing Travel Characteristics
【Abstract】 With the rapid development of the economy,ride-hailing services have become deeply integrated into the daily travel routines of urban residents. As ride-hailing passengers span diverse social classes and age groups, and their pickup/drop-off locations closely align with residents ’ actual travel origins and destinations,so ride-hailing data have become an ideal data source for studying residents ’ travel characteristics, which can reflect the characteristics of residents’ travel activities more realistically. Subways, as a critical component of urban public transportation, significantly influence residents’ travel behaviors and directly or indirectly shape urban spatial utilization. Investigating changes in residents’ travel patterns before and after subway system openings can assist urban planning authorities in optimizing spatial development and enhancing transportation efficiency. This study uses ride-hailing order data from Shijiazhuang in 2017 before and after the subway opening to construct a travel characteristic dataset categorized by duration, speed, distance and time period. Orders with either origin or destination within 1500 meters of subway stations are selected as the experimental group. It also employs a difference-indifferences(DID) method to quantitatively assess how the subway’s opening affects the travel characteristics of ridehailing services. The findings reveal that the subway ’s opening will have a negative impact on the various ride-hailing orders.Notably, there is a significant difference in the hourly distribution of orders between weekdays and weekends. On weekdays, significant declines are observed in medium-duration(20 ~ 40 minutes) and long-duration(> 40 minutes)orders,low-speed(< 15 km/h) and high-speed(> 30 km/h) trips,as well as various distances journeys. Weekend medium-distance orders(10 ~ 20 km) also decreases. Ride-hailing demand drops across all weekday time periods, including peak and off-peak hours, with pronounced reductions during weekend peak hours. Increased travel duration is identified as the primary factor driving users toward subway alternatives. These results highlight the potential changes in ride-hailing demand following the opening of a subway system, establishing a theoretical foundation for coordinated development between subway and ride-hailing services. Building on these insights,we propose targeted development recommendations to promote integrated ride-hailing-subway commuting systems. These findings offer critical practical guidance for optimizing comprehensive urban transportation regulation and evidence-based policy formulation.
