内蒙古白云鄂博矿床发现一种新的含羟基、铌-镁氧化物新矿物——福元铌矿

【摘要】 铌具有熔点高、耐腐蚀、耐磨和超导性等优点,被广泛应用于特种钢铁、超导材料和航空航天等领域,是发展低碳绿色能源产业的战略性关键金属。内蒙古白云鄂博矿床是全球最大的稀土矿床,也是中国最大的铌矿床。据统计,在该矿床已发现的矿物达210余种,其中新矿物23种;铌矿物近31种,其中新矿物10种。福元铌矿是近期在该矿床发现的又一种新的含铌矿物,呈红褐色至褐色,板状,自形至半自形,粒度约为40~60μm,通常与鄂博铌矿、铌钙矿、烧绿石、磁铁矿及碳酸盐矿物等共生。福元铌矿是一种结构简单的含羟基、镁-铌氧化物类矿物,理想化学式Mg7Nb6O18(OH)8,铌氧化物平均含量为67.3%,属于三方晶系,空间群■(#147)。福元铌矿是鄂博铌矿水热蚀变后的产物,且Nb2O5含量显著升高。福元铌矿新矿物的发现增加了白云鄂博可用铌金属选冶矿物种类,也表明了蚀变作用过程中Nb的弱迁移性。

【Abstract】 Niobium(Nb) is known for its high melting point,resistance to corrosion and wear,as well as its superconducting properties.It is extensively utilized in specialized steel,superconducting materials,and aerospace applications,making it a crucial strategic metal for the advancement of the low-carbon green energy sector.The Bayan Obo deposit in Inner Mongolia is recognized as the largest rare earth deposit globally and also holds the title of the largest niobium deposit in China.Reports indicate that ~210different minerals have been identified in this deposit,with 23 of them being newly discovered.Among the nearly 31 niobium minerals found,10 are classified as new.Recently,a new niobium-bearing mineral named fuyuanite was identified in this deposit.Fuyuanite[Mg7Nb6018(OH)8] is a reddish-brown to brown mineral that appears as platy,euhedral to subhedral crystals ranging from 40μm to 60μm in size.Fuyuanite is typically found in association with minerals such as oboniobite,fersmite,pyrochlore,magnetite,dolomite and calcite.It has a trigonal structure with space group ■(#147) and is a newly discovered magnesic-niobic species containing hydroxyl.Fuyuanite is formed from the low-temperature alteration of oboniobite,resulting in a notable increase in Nb2O5 content.The identification of fuyuanite expands the variety of Nb-bearing minerals suitable for metallurgy in Bayan Obo and suggests that Nb migrates weakly during low-temperature alteration processes.
