Region-Centric UAV Coordinated Multi-Point Transmission Strategy and Performance Analysis
【Abstract】 With the rapid development of the low-altitude economy, conventional terrestrial communication networks, which are primarily designed for ground users, struggle to satisfy the communication demands of low-altitude users in terms of coverage, reliability, and latency.Deploying lightweight base stations on unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) as aerial base stations can effectively assist terrestrial cellular networks to establish a three-dimensional communication architecture, thereby providing enhanced support for low-altitude economy. To simplify the design and deployment of UAV base stations, this paper proposes a region-centric coordinated multi-point(CoMP) transmission strategy based on stochastic geometry theory.Within this framework, the meta-distribution of the received signal-tointerference ratio(SIR) for the typical user and the spectral efficiency of the network are systematically modeled and analyzed. The simulation results demonstrate that, compared with the conventional user-centric CoMP strategy, the proposed region-centric approach forms a more stable cooperation structure, exhibits higher reliability and spectral efficiency under moderate to high SIR conditions, while significantly reducing coordination signaling overhead and transmission delay. These findings provide new insights and references for the design and optimization of lowaltitude communication networks.
