【Abstract】 The occurrence of wooden/woody breast( WB) in fast-growing broilers with high incidence and deteriorated meat quality has resulted in substantial economic losses to the global broiler industry in recent years. Global studies have been conducted to investigate multiple aspects of WB. Herein,we provided a comprehensive review of meat quality characteristics and the incidence of WB,emphasizing factors involved in the formation of WB and the underlying pathological mechanisms. Additionally,we summarized relevant breeding management and nutritional regulation strategies to mitigate WB. This review offers reference for a deeper understanding of the pathogenesis of WB and insights into developing regulatory strategies to cope with WB.更多还原
